Sucks and smears for months. try vinegar if that dont work then let it wear off lol TheOtherSide 10-08-2006, 04:29 PM I usually just get a clean cloth and rub it until it's gone. I just did it a couple weeks ago and it is still clean and clear. Use the handy Karate Kid Wax-On method. Rub in circles until a good bit is gone then switch to a clean cloth and repeat. Also, paper towels have worked well for me, especially the glass cleaning ones/baby soft ones that can be had at any Wally World or grocery store. cancritter 10-08-2006, 05:18 PM note to self....avoid rainx 1fstrst 10-08-2006, 05:56 PM Just sprinkle some water on it and wipe off with a chit load of paper towels. I've never had a real problem with Rain X. The main thing is to do apply it in the shade and DO NOT let it sit on for very long before you wipe it off. 06fourdoor 10-08-2006, 11:06 PM This is the first time I waited a long time, so I think that is what it is. I went in to eat lunch for about an hour. I like rainx after the installation. It really sheds the water good. It's just the getting it on part that sucks. 1fstrst 10-08-2006, 11:16 PM This is the first time I waited a long time, so I think that is what it is. I went in to eat lunch for about an hour. That product is pretty good. You will still need some good elbow work to get it off , but personally I think it's worth it. 97Silverado 10-08-2006, 11:18 PM I let it haze and then polish it off with a micro-fiber. Crystal clear and very little work. I swear by this stuff...makes it hella easier to clean bugs off the windshield, too. 1fstrst 10-08-2006, 11:24 PM I let it haze and then polish it off with a micro-fiber. Crystal clear and very little work. I swear by this stuff...makes it hella easier to clean bugs off the windshield, too. \ I'll try that next time. Never thought of using a micro-fiber before. Thanks. iceman7329 10-08-2006, 11:26 PM I just wax it (windshield) right along with the rest of the truck... ninjalogan 10-09-2006, 12:04 AM I'm there on waxing the windshield. Make bugs do weird things at 70mph. They just kind of ooze up the window. TrueDetailer 10-09-2006, 03:42 AM Are you trying to remove the excess after applying it? Or are trying to remove it completly? If your trying to get rid of it totaly. A clay bar is your best friend. phatchevy06 10-09-2006, 04:05 AM :word: on the clay bar for removal. Next time try waxing it like mentioned before. Works just as good in some cases better. ByronSz71 10-09-2006, 05:15 PM I like how RainX makes the water bead off, but my windshield fogs up when I use it. Also at low speeds when I want the wipers on it just smears... any tips? iceman7329 10-09-2006, 06:13 PM I like how RainX makes the water bead off, but my windshield fogs up when I use it. Robbin'thabanks 10-11-2006, 10:56 PM My car wash i use has a rain-x add on and i did it today for $2 extra and it sprays the whole car and rinses it. That stuff works wonders, it rained and got home and there wasnt a drop of water on the truck. 99silveradoguy 10-11-2006, 11:29 PM rain-x works very nicely. the biggest thing i noticed is if you put to much on, you get the smears. i normally do one pump of my rain-x bottle per side and use papertowel to cover the rest of the windshield. after a minute or two i wipe the rest off with a mircofiber clothe and all set!. i havent used my wipers on the highway in months :read: Tahoe97 10-24-2006, 11:16 AM I rainxed all my window and now I can't get it off. I always use hot soapy water and it comes off no problems then I reapply it. I have never had problems with this stuff I think its great. If that don't work use something like this :fire: 'radolover 10-24-2006, 03:09 PM As a pre-cleaner for Rain-X, I cleaned the W/S with BonAmi. Works like, and as good as, a poor man's jeweler's rouge. And Rain-X applied properly is, IMO, really good stuff. Haven't seen anything that seriously competes with it over an expanded time. Firestrike87 10-24-2006, 03:14 PM I read from someone on here a while back to apply the rain x before you wash your truck, then wash it like normal and it doesn't leave streaks. It works for me at least! vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
