My new project 07 Avalanche!

I've been a member here for a few years now. I built op an 01 Silverado that most of you have scene before. I was offered a good price awhile back for that truck and sold it. Since then I owned another Z71 Quad Cab Silverado that I used primarily as a work truck and Motorcycle hauler.

Ok recentley I purchased an 07 Avalanche. Having been a Torsion bar guru for a long time the new coilover suspension was new to me. My first impresion is a much nicer ride on and off the street.(That being said offroad was limited dirt trails and a few hills hardley a real test).

The bug bit again so I'm starting the build up this week on the Avalanche.

1. Fabtech 7" suspension lift.(Never been much of a Fabtech fan, but they are more known for the coilover suspension lift, I looked at every piece of the kit which looks very solid).

2. I'm not going to put standard Fabtech shocks on. I'm putting the new Fabtech 2.5 Dirt Logic Coilover shocks up front.

3. I'm putting the 2.25 Dirt logic shocks in the rear. If you have never looked at these shocks they are masive and well built.

4. The wheels will be 20" KMC Hoss KD Chrome Wheels.

5. The tires are 35" Toyo M/T. I probably could squeeze a larger tire, but I want the vehicle to function with no rubbing at all.

6. 4.56 Gears will also go in this week. I'm not a big fan of underpowered Trucks running the wrong gears. 4.56 is basically back to stock specs with the 35's.

These are the major systems going on this week. I've posted a few pic's of the before and some of the goodies. I will update everyone on the truck monday of next week.

If I have to tell the truth either was I. I just wanted something new since I've owned trucks my entire adult life. The 07 Avilanche pushed me over the edge. Should be fun to see it later this week.

I love your Avi, I was actually looking at all kinds of lifted Avi's before I decided on certain parts of the project. The one thing I learned about my old rig, is do it right the first time. I went through alot of waisted money the last time. Anyway heres some pic's. I just posted these in another thread but here they are.

I'm just uping the gears off the bat, The supercharger is down the road. But you never know, not even sure they have come out with one yet for the new engine?

Ive wanted a avy since the day they came out. I like the old ultimate adventure avy some mag did. they beat it to heck and back to.

The new avalanches are pretty badass. Your black avy is going to look sweet as hell lifted. Get us some pics of the parts before you put them on as well. I'm interested in seeing the Fabtech kit. Your last truck was amazing and I'm sure this one will be even more amazing. Great thing to learn like you said -- DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I think after 2 trucks I've finally learned that!
