looking good so far. I would have put the tube in first or atleast braced the frame before cutting into it to prevent the frame rails from tweaking.

Under the hood really for the most it is the wiring on the driverside firewall. We removed the heater, which could have been altered to keep, but it isn't needed since it is a summer vehicle. The overflow has to be moved, so it is gonna be put over a little bit on the firewall. Also something different is going to be done with the battery, probably just a tray on the trailor fenders.

Man that would be so much fun! Nice work! One question why is the fuel cell sump faceing towards the cab?
Were trying to keep the cell under the stock bed floor. If we put the sump in the back as low as it is when i air up the front to turn the sump will drag or come VERY close to dragging and we dont want that.

im really diggin the work, the only thing i would have done differently is the front mounts of the tri bars... i know you used axle mounts instead of just tabs, but they should be angled so that the bolts of the tri-bars are perpendicular to the bars themselves, like they are on your axle, can ya dig? catch my drift? pickin up what im droppin? smellin what im steppin in? if you dont fix it, it will put a lot of force in a direction that you dont want it to, and possibly break the super-pivot, or possibly bend the mount... i mean, somethings got to give, sometime down the road... just thought i'd throw that out there. other than that, truck is lookin pretty dope man... keep it up
Theyre super pivots....theyll be fine...plus they still have plenty of movement side to side before they hit anything....So how can there be pressure when it isnt hitting?
For those of you who were interested in the progress in this thread the progress is now being kept at....

They are ART arms, the 1500 and 2500 are the same, also the spindles are stock. I really wasn't happy with the lower a-arm design because we needed to cut way more then i would have liked to out of the frame.
who makes those upper arms? I couldn't find anyone that makes them for 2500's and what kind of spindles do you have?

Your truck looks awesome man. You're in SK so I assume you'll be staying at Brownsburg Super 8. Me and my buddy will be staying there. Oddly enough your truck looks like a bastard child of our two trucks. Mine's a pink and black Sonoma two tone like yours and his is a Chevy work truck (standard cab long bed) that's still in planning/buying parts stage.
Yea yea...thats where well be stayin. Dont be afraid to come introduce urself. Should be pullin in around thu. night

Hey Ikon, i know this is off topic, but how did you go about smoothing your dash like that... did u have the vents there before and just fill in? i am smoothing mine down, i had filled the lil grooves that go around the trim, and then laid a coat of fiberglass resin over it all, but i wanna get the a/c holes filled like yours cause i go no a/c either... thanks.. Jason
sanded and fiberglassed the dash

This might sound dumb but what are rebased hids??
its an HID bulb that is rebased to fit into your stock headlight housing.

heh. did you get the pink color HID kit? i forget what kelvin it is...? would look cool with the pink scheme.
nah, just an 8000k kit from cqlight.ca pretty good for a plug and play kit. Had it for over 3 years never had a problem yet.
sLOWrado01
08-22-2007, 10:38 PM
ya ive got 8000K plug n play too, i dig it, wish ida gone 6000K tho, i like the whiter light...
yea i think when one of my 8000 bulbs go im gonna get the 6000k as well.

I think im gunna have to look into one of these kits hows the quality ??
Pretty good. Like i said ive had it for over 3 years now and havent had a single issue with them.
DroppedAsAChild
08-23-2007, 10:27 PM
which do you reccomend the 6000k or the 8000k??
sLOWrado01
08-24-2007, 09:19 AM
it depends on how blue you want the lights to be. 8000K is startin to get fairly blue in the lenses, but is very white on the ground. 6000K is white on the lenses (a look i like better), and still very white on the ground. for a truck you drive daily and want to keep classy id def stay under 10000K or IMO itll look ricy. heres a good shot of mine with 8000K ( i need the sylvania housing i know...)

it all just depends on what you like.
Well just splurged hardcore on air management...Sick of my slow ass comps and gonna remove my 2 5 gals and put a 12 gal in the bed. I just ordered up from SD....
(1) 200psi adj. Square D pressure switch
(1) Black 12 gal. 8 port tank
(1) 96-98 Chevy Half Ton Vortec V8 Engine Driven Comp.
on top of that various fittings to make it all work. Well be movin the airline back to the outside of the frame rail now that we got the axel shift problem under control so stay tuned for some updates come spring...prly leave it sit til then so i dont have to rush the install.

what you gonna do with the old tanks? i might be interested in buying one if you are selling... pm me please sir.
The 5 gal. tanks that are in there currently have been sectioned due to the fact that the new fuel cell we had to install didnt quite fit right. They both leak and will be tossed in the trash. Sry i cant help ya man!

have you had any problems with your rear end moving during hard turns because you have so little triangulation in the 4-link?

I dunno the terminology very well... I assume the frame touches the ground now and before at the beginning of the thread - the truck just went up and down or didn't go as low?
Sick truck - built your own frame - crazy. I thought I was doing good to put in new cd players and easy stuff. lol
