EDIT....pics on 3" spindle lift? :D 1bad05 01-20-2007, 08:53 PM rough country makes a really good spindle. i just put them on my 05. not a problem so far. they are really easy to install also. SierraSLT 01-20-2007, 11:07 PM Got picture? :D How long did it take you to install spindle on your truck? I really don't know much about lifted (still learning)....I am a noob :D 20002wdchevy 01-21-2007, 12:44 PM its a great lift. i just finished them on my truck and Its awesome. If you do it, get either the kit of at least blocks because now mine sits higher in the front. Before you do it make sure you have a place to align it because i went 6 different places that all told me no since It has the spindle lift on it. I ended up doing it myself at work but you should verify or it will eat up tires fast. also while you have it apart you should at least consider doing balljoints. The uppers are press fit, not too big of a deal but the bottoms are rivited and it took my 2+ hours just to air hammer and torch them out. and another thing, you may consider getting new extended brake lines because mine bind a little a full turn when compressed. sorry for the long post and good luck! CLint SierraSLT 01-21-2007, 08:23 PM Look easy..... So I need to take my truck to align shop to check up before putting new spindle in? Also.....what about front and rear shocks? do i need to get newer shocks? if so then what the best brand to buy (also the size?)? Thanks bigcody 01-21-2007, 09:46 PM You shouldnt need to get it aligned until after the spindles are installed. The only reason you might get new shocks is for the added weight of the bigger tires or rims. 20002wdchevy 01-21-2007, 10:25 PM well i say that because I removed my upper control arms to press in the new ball joints and the angles were horrible and also my TOE was way off with the new spindles....it was just a though, id hate to see you eat up a set of good tires. SOme people say that you should get longer ones if you go more than a 2" block but you'll be fine as long as you dont regularly stuff your tires to the bump stops on a regular basis. SierraSLT 01-21-2007, 10:58 PM heh theres tons of bump stops at my college....... Anyway....after new spindle in.....only 31" tires can fit in without rub...am i correct? sorry that i had to ask a lot questions KA-Z71 01-22-2007, 08:58 AM Yall post some tire sizes and pics. I have been looking at the CST spindles but for the price, I would give up an inch for the Rough Countrys. I already have a set of avalanch 17" rims with 285/70/17s mounted and would love to use them with the new spindles if they will fit. K5blazerguy 01-22-2007, 09:07 AM here's my truck with 3" fabtech spindles on stock wheels and tires: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/t_vongchan/offroadwitheddie061.jpg there's 3" blocks in the back to keep the nose dive, i load up the truck alot as far as 17" wheels with 285's, theyll fit, i am running some wheels and tires off of a nissan titan (offroad package) same size wheel and tire, they will be fine SierraSLT 02-11-2007, 01:08 PM Look like I am going buy spindle lift on this late summer, but I got few questions again. Any gas mileage changes after install spindle lift (I got 255/70/16 tires and plan to go bigger tires soon) ? What about gears? I have 3.42 and should i switch to 3.73 ? Will Z71 skid plate (junkyard) fit for my Sierra? 20002wdchevy 02-11-2007, 08:17 PM depending on how big you go, the 3.42 to 3.73 will not be noticed. i did the same switch after my spindles and 26575R16's and i really didnt notice a difference except on the highway it was a tiny bit higher r's at 75. i havent checked mileage but it will go down possibly 1 mpg. like i said every situation is different. good luck. vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
