Hey guys,
New to the site with a few ideas for my truck and lookin for ALOT of input from you guys

I just bought a 1995 chevy 1500 regular cab with the 4.3L v6 i got a great truck with a flawless body and frame not to mention only 82,000 miles. Now i cant leave it stock of course beacause im 16 years old with a decent job. i want to have the most badass truck in my school parking lot and i was wondering if i should save for a engine sawp (i was thinking 350 v8 form bowers engines) or just some american racing torq thrusts with a loud ass exhaust i cant decide if i should make it preform or just concentrate on the looks any help with parts or what i should do would be great. I dont want to lift.

Thanks

haha, that was my quest when i got my 87 chevy a couple years ago. If u wanna go fast ull definately need an engine swap. Plus 6bangers dont sound all that good w dual exhaust. What i did was put tru duals with cut outs right off the manifolds. those will definately draw attention. Then maybe some wheels and bigger tires to go with the louder noise and bigger engine. thats what ive done/am doing. All i got left to do it get headers and a 3.73 posi rearend

I'm a little biased, but if you are going to swap, do a GenIII engine (5.3, 5.7 LS1, 6.0) The swap isnt bad and you can make everything work and great power with even more potential.
I pulled my tired old 4.3 and put in an '05 5.3. Now, we are pulling it to do a forged 347 (Iron block 5.3 bored) and a turbo.

I am leaving the motor in until Wednesday so I can go to a meet.
Then, we are pulling it to start the install of the turbo motor and turbo. I'll post up when something is done.

trtturbo,
hey i was reading through your posts and i am in the prosess of putting a turbo on my 350...its hard to find any diagrams or anything to show how the best way to put it on...which way are you going about doing it and what all are you doing to your engine to make sure that it can handle a turbo? i would like to see some picts of it if you have any...thanks

Billy what kind of mufflers are on your truck it sounds bad ass, can wait to have you do my swap so mine can sound like that.

Since no-one makes LT's for the swap, I have ported 6.0 manifolds to 2.25 pipes to a 2.5" X pipe into 3" twister mufflers. I didnt want to spend much on the exhaust, so I cut up a stock Y and made true duals.

Honestly, if you plan on keeping that 4.3, I wouldn't even bother with exhaust or anything.

If you want the girls attention, get some wheels and some body mods. A stereo that pounds is always a good idea too. If you talk about how you "Swapped an LQ4 6.0 into your truck", most girls will just be like "Uh huh..." And most girls who have ridden in my truck seem to be far more interested in the blue neon and the stereo, than when I put the pedal to floor.

If you want to impress your buddies, a sick motor swap is where its at. Power, and loud exhaust.
