Well, I got good and stuck this afternoon. Had to go out in a field to get some firewood since the last rick we bought came from a pansy-@$$ lowlife who was too much of a lazy bum to give us an honest pile of wood. :cussing:
It's rained over the weekend, but there's grass where I need to go, and it's not too soft. Riiight. Basically I spin a tiny bit, which rips the grass off the dirt and leaves me with the slipperiest layer of mud you've ever seen. Which then proceeds to pack the tread on my tires full amazingly fast.
Here's where the downfall of living in the country comes in. I had to walk a mile back to the house to get a tractor, which couldn't get enough traction to pull my truck more than an inch, then had to drive 15 miles to borrow my dad's Sierra Denali. :bash: Which shortly had me asking: How the heck does an AWD vehicle spin out? Very easily on this mud, it turned out. Thankfully I had pulled it far enough to get at the front tow hooks and get the Denali off on some dry grass to pull from. De nada, came out easy. :worship: I was seriously worried about the rope I was using, though. An old 1/2" braided rope. Plus his truck had a locking hitch pin (and no key to be found), so I couldn't run the pin through a loop in the rope, but had to hang it over the hitch ball. Must get a tow strap.
So now, the reason for all my blabbering: Anything I can do in the future to get out easier? Or is it pretty much all you can do to rock it back and forth? Speaking of which, just how bad on the tranny is it to do that?
thanks!
