Those wheels are sex too i might have to pick up a set of those for my 93 with a 4/6 drop.
Yeah, Those wheels look nice. What are the specs. They look like factory GM wheels
Shockwaves on all four, the wheels are off a 2007 Yukon.Im a big fan of factory wheels for a clean look. Wheel specs are 20x8.5 31mm offset 275/45 20 tires. I redrilled the axles for six lug and 2500 front rotors(thanks dumpedv8).

It only lays out as much shown in the upper pics as I did not want to hack up the rear floor as this will be my daily driver. I dont have any more pics yet,I will take a couple next week if I get more progress done.
Here's a pic of what the front will look like.

That front end fits the obs tahoes rather nicely.
These are the only pic's I have right now THEPISTONHEAD. Its Sucidedoors weld in parallel 4 link,20" bars,SKW9000 Shockwaves,I made the notch so when it's layed out the pumpkin is about a 1/16" away from the floor as this is my daily driver and did not want to hack up the floor. I will update the pics as soon as I get more progress worth taking pics for. :)

is that just a nbs clip or just a conversion clip?
There is no conversion kit you have to modify the newer front clip to fit like this one.

Your 2Door looks sweeeet!!!!! "3-up" nice to see these 2doors/ 2wd pop up in Canada. I'm working on converting a 4x4 to 2x4. I like those wheels you have on your Tahoe, what year and model are they? I saw a set of 2007 Tahoe wheels at a local swap meet on the weekend I tought they were identical to yours but looking at your Tahoe pics tonight they're different the ones I saw had the lug nuts covered with a cover with a gold bowtie on it. They looked pretty cool and the guy was asking $2000 Cdn. for them I didn't think that was too bad for brand new take-off's with 275/55/20 Bridgestones. I should have bought them.....

Yah this hoe is from Florida, its nice to work on a vehicle thats rust free. The wheels are off a 2007 Yukon, the ones you described are off a Tahoe. If they are GM wheels the offset is printed on the back of one of the spokes for example 20x8.5x31

Thanks for the info "3-UP". Now for bringing these trucks into Canada what does it take? example:safety check, licensing, duty ,cost, ect. Thanks for your help!!! You're right on working on rust free metal that's a bonus. I lucked out pretty good with my 4x4 Tahoe I got the tub is in pretty good shape and its about the only original metal I'm using since I'm converting it to 2wd I'm using a 1992 burban frame cut off in front of rear wheels and building the rear section out fo 2x4 square tubing as for the front end I'm trying to find a rust fre ESKY front good luck.
Thanks again for the info "3-UP" If you have any ideas for me let me know..thanks :FSCrules:
3up another question for you the wheels you have say on the back 20x8.5 31 31 meaning +31 offset could you explain? thank you!!!!

Thanks for the comments.
i was thinkin about either redrilling mine or buying a whole 99-02 rear axel cause its 6 lug and is rear disc! as for the front i thought you need 2500 spindels to coexist with the 2500 rotors? if alls i need is 2500 rotors ill be 6 lugged by the end of the week!
That's all you need is the light duty 2500 2wd rotors . I know this works on the 96 anyway I'm not sure on the 88 model I think the spindle shaft is a diff length.I would try the 2500 of the same year as your truck. If not the same don't mark them up and take them back.
I think the NBS style rear end is a bit wider.
1989K1500
04-11-2007, 06:58 AM
I think the NBS style rear end is a bit wider.
I cant remember but I dont think its wider, but the spring perches are different and the I think the shock mounts are different. Different as in the pad width is too wide as well as the distance between the shock mounts.
DUMPD04
04-11-2007, 11:52 AM
yeah the NBS rear end is wider than the OBS
and thanks for the info man!

so on the front is there any modification required to put the 6 lug 2500 rotors on?? does it have to be oem? or can i get some cross drilled an slotted ones and slap em on there??
I allready answered your question on page #3 and why would it matter who makes them as long as there for the right vehicle? Maybe someone else could reply as to them fitting on the earlier 88 spindles.
Disassembled the other side front so I could sit it on the ground to get more motivated. It worked:nutkick: . Now I'm working on the exhaust before I start on the last side on the front, just for a change of scenery.

So, I have to ask, whats up with the "curtains" in the shop?
The curtains seperate the garage from the other side where a old Jag is being restored. Just to keep the overspray and sanding dust down a bit.

Looks amazing bro, but you really need to ditch the side molding. And smoothie bumpers would also be prime.
I would remove the side molding but its been painted before and they were not removed when painted. As for the smoothie bumper I'm not going to bother as I am going to build a nice bumper in the winter when I change the nose like in the rendering in one of my first posts.

hey what tires are those that you have one there. Im looking for a 275 45 20 that im gonna put on the back of my obs rcsb but i want a reasonable price( i know 45 series aret exp to begin with) but i dont want ones that have a bubble look to them . Im tired of rubber bands and i have 275 40 20 that im gonna put up front. Thanks
These are the tires I'm using they seem to be great ,very deep tread and good a tread wear rating also.

ok, thanks. i was just curious as to what you did where the front bolts to the radiator support & where the bolt on the firewall is. im sure the bolts wont be needed, as it is welded to the fender, i guess you fabbed up some sheet metal in those areas?
Nothing is welded to the fenders.I moved the whole inner portion of the fender up 3.5" then bolted the inner fenders back up like factory. Not as easy as it sounds so if you don't have alot of patience I would not recommend trying this.

Just swap in a 1/2T 4x4 rear axle-you most likely get better gears and a posi-they are a lot easier to find than a 2wd rear end and no machining required.

my bad, I ment when you cut your fenders for the hood, how much did you cut off
It's cut on a taper to look proper, if you really need the measurements I will take them tomorrow night. Keep in mind that this is probably the hardest way to do the conversion so you better have allot of patience or you'll have a warped mess on your hands,or allot of cash if you get someone to do it for you. Also you have to fabricate a new windshield cowl as there's a bigger gap at the rear of the hood.:thud:
