I am new to the concept of lifting a truck of my own...I have been around them my whole life but never imagined doing it myself until I got a truck...go figure. So I never asked questions about it Anyways, the point of this message is, what kind of lift is available for my truck (1999 1500, 2wd, Standard cab, long bed) to pick it up 10 inches or more using suspention alone (money is no issue, I am looking for something nice)? So I can run 38s or maybe a little bigger after doing a 3" body lift as well. Also, what all is involved in a suspention lift...what about my brake lines and stuff? If anyone has any info I'd appreciate you sharing it.
Thanks,
Corbin

if your wanting to go that big i would check out full throttle suspension. if you want to see some pic's go to socaltrucks.com they have some pics on there.

yeah... but if its a daily i would reconsider... when you go that big with out a sas... sometimes it just F's up bad... make sure your installer can handel that big of a lift... and honestly with it being 2wd they might not want to even touch that ( with the size you want)..

o and new lines WILL DEFFINETLY be needed, and might as well upgrade ALL your breaks... and try to get a kit that losses your upper ball joints and uses uni balls.. and all steering will need a up grade, hope that helps

here is my 04 with 17 inches of lift and 39.5's on it. it sits 2 inches higher in the back now. rides great and I have been driving everyday for the last month.

Well then, I guess I will be buying a smaller lift. So who has nice 2wd lifts in your guys opinions?

fabtech makes a seven inch kit for most trucks and the one that uses the drop down cradel are best ( i wish mine was) then you can throw on a body lift and still have a nice 10 inch lift. upgrade your gears and you could prolly run some 36 inch RADIAL tsl's on some 10 inch wide rims with a little rubbing, maybe none at all on the road.
if you have money get CST with some uniballs.. they make some of the most kick ass long travel suspensions around, but that would make your front track increase about 4 inches per side prolly.. you should deff check them out. and ive been thinking about swaping my fabtech coil and arm kit for their long travel kit... just wouldnt be able to till the summer.. if at all lol.. its about 1800 just for the upper and lower longtravel arms and coils i want!!

I have my 2002 2wd lifted 18" on 39.5's and I drive it everyday....and I haven't really had any problems. I've had the lift on there for at least 15,000 miles.
Also...I dont know of anyone who will lift a 4x4 12 inches but not a 2wd. So not sure how it is where you live, but it doesn't matter if your 2wd or 4wd here.
I have a bulletproof 14" lift on my truck with a CST 4" spindle, and I'm contemplating doing a 3" body now too.
If you get a good kit, match up your gearing with your tire size, you should be good driving it daily except for the gas consumption.
My advice to you is...if you like how 10" and higher looks, do it that way the first time! Cause you'll end up doing it over if you lift it 7, and it will cost you twice!
