I'm new here so don't be too harsh to me:wink:

Anyways I just bought a 1979 C10 2wd v8 for only $300 from a good friend it runs great just had to put a battery in it, along with some minor rust, which I can fix pretty easily.

But I'm wondering how much effort it would take to lift this truck, because I've noticed I sit pretty low and it would be nice to fit some bigger, more agressive tires on it. I'm hoping I could lift it to get a little higher then the stock 4 wheel drive version.

Also I have a question about exhaust, I want something that is loud, and gives you that crackle sound..But I don't have the money to spend on a flowmaster..I was thinking a cheap glass pack of some sort.

Finding anything "off the shelf" for something that old (in the front) would probably be pretty tough. You might try some new, non-sagging springs and coil spacers, but that's going to get you 2" maximum.

Lifting the back can be done easily with blocks.

Cherry bombs sound like what you want for mufflers.

yup glasspacks is what ya need.. just get the type your muffler shop has cause their all pieces of **** anyway.. lol but they sound cool for a while, i ran dual 14 inch long ones on my truck and it was loud, but hardly louder than my 40 series flow masters i have now.

as for the lifti know you can get one from fabtech that is 3 inches.. do a search, its coils and ball joint spacers.. runs like 200 or so dollars. then just get a body lift and some good shocks for the front and you'll be good

Thanks for the input, yeah I found the fabtech lift on google and I already had found a body lift for it. :)

Yeah after doing some research I'll probably just get some generic glass pack and hopefully that will be enough to intimate those ricers:rolleyes:

But it will be nice to have a good ole chevy truck once again, But living in Minnesota I'm curious how this will do in the winter..I'll probably have to load the bed with sand bags or something..

btw fabtech_chevy your truck looks great
