Well I got this program and can't really understand any tutorials and I tried to make something from this thread http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172247but I don't have the basic knowledge of photoshop. I also tried this thread http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98936I can't make any thing of the pictures or layer it is all comimg up as background. All I really want photoshop for is to like take a picture of a beach/building or whatever else and put my truck in front of it, and then learn from there..When I use the lasso tool and cut my truck out I can't move it from the rest of the background in the pic of what I don't need. I know it has got to be easier than it looks I just don't know which tools I need to use or where to start..I would like to try some sigs too but I need the basic knowledge to start. I guess what I need to know is where do I go to find out just the basics... Maybe there is another thread with just the basics.. Well please any help is apreciated..Today is the first day I played with the program too so you know I probally will ask some dumb questions here and there... thanks

my advice. keep playing. make a selection with the polygon lasso tool and just start using different tools on it to see what happens. its also good to learn a few short cut keys like Ctrl+Z is undo (or Ctrl+Alt+Z for newer programs).

Now for your specific problem. Make your selection of your truck, then switch to the Move Tool (the all black arrow) and grab the selected area to move it to the other picture. after you move the selection, you can grab the corners to resize it so it looks a little more realistic. once you use the program a little more you'll learn to put in shading, reflections, etc. to make the truck look like it was originally in the picture you moved it to.

edit: if you have any more questions, you can post them up in the Digital Dreams Tech forum. Its made for people who are having trouble learning the program.
