Well i finally got me a short box! 83 Custom Deluxe w/6.2L....
Yes the truck is on a slope in the drive way and leaning to the drivers front side! Everyone on myspace was hitting me with ways to fix it but the rear pass side is on a slope. Let me know what you think and any ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like a good truck to start with.
You plan on keeping that motor or putting something else in it?

Well don't know if i want to keep the motor - Odom is not accurate. Original owners had it thru high school and so on he is figuring about 170,000 on the motor and about 90,000 on the trans from when he rebuilt it about 70-80,000 miles ago.
I have been checking around about the motor, went to "TheDieselPlace.com" and they are saying a good rebuild is fine and there is a ton of stuff still offered for the motor. So i guess i will consider keeping it. The numbers match and everything so it is completely original. I have had 3 offers on the motor however.
Between getting back and all the appointments i have been having to go too i have not been able to see why the front drivers side is sagging about 2".... Thanks for the tip i will check that out first. Any other ideas about why - collapsed spring so on?

Well, consider this - it is very likely the truck has been driven with mostly only the driver in the cab, if said driver is a big guy that's 200lbs imbalance on the left side of the truck. Add to that the 20-y-o springs gone through only god knows what, and I'd say it is likely the front left-hand coil has sagged a little more than the right-hand one. However with the front suspension geometry a 2" drop at the fender means a 1" sag in the coil, which is really a lot if the right-hand coil is still up. So yeah, look into body mounts, those are know to rot out and sometimes disintegrate much faster than springs sag.

Man, I'd ditch the diesel and throw in a gasser. Never have to worry about smoggin it. I used to live in whichita falls about 15+ yrs ago

like said above. Dont need to smog it so you can throw one hell of a gasser in it.

I have lived here for 4 and that was not by choice, moving back to Destin Fl. in 6 weeks!!!!!
Most likely will pull the motor and drop something nice into it. Come to find out the motors are loved and still in demand by the Diesel lovers. Have had a coupple offers for the motor but gonna wait till i move and get settled in so i can start tearing her apart. Right now she is in good daily driver condition. So the bed has been useful for hauling crap to the dump before we move.
It depends on what you want to do with the truck. If you are going for rare, you found it. But if you are wanting a truck that makes good power and is dependable then a swap is in order.
Banks makes a sidewinder turbo upgrade kit for the 6.2L, but it would cost a lot of money to make good power out of it. A fairly common swap for the diesel is a big block. That diesel only makes about 150 hp and not that much tq. A well built small block or big block would run circles around the diesel. Being a two wheel drive, the diesel may not suit your needs, imo.
But whatever you decide to do with it, it should be a fun build. Good luck!

Ha Ha... I wouldn't mind a hybrid Duramax powertrain in mine, but money is a HUGE problem. I don't have much after common American obligations.
As long as you have the cash to do a buildup right, you'll have fun doing it. Good luck!
