I know I know, why would you want to replace your nice carpet with rubber? Well I am constantly going hunting, working, and ATV riding, and getting back into my truck with mud on my feet. My carpet is really taking a beating. It would be much nicer if I could just hose out my floorboards. So has anybody tried to do this or know were I can get the material for this at? Also, is there a kit made for this?

Rubber is easier to keep clean .. not quite as easy as hose it out .. there IS sound deadener and fireresistant sh!t under the rubber and dont forget you hose the rubber .. the water WILL go under it at the sills and rust.

hes right, i never exactly "hose" mine out, i usually just take a wet rag and wipe it out, still easier than carpet

I'm pretty sure there are companies that make rubber or vinyl floor kits. I put one in one of my offroad trucks a long time ago and it was great.

Its a 2000 reg. cab. "Hose out" was just a figure of speech. Maybe take the power blower and "blow it out" would have been better. I just dont like how it stains and everything.

Your not using any kinda of mat? The rubber sounds like it would suit you...but perhaps in this situation a set of nice floor mats would do the trick. They have ones that will trap moisture and debris and not allow it to reach the rest of the carpet/truck. It could possibly save you a lot of money.

i have the vinyl floors in mine and i love it. although it does not look as NICE as carpet it is a whole lot easier to clean. if i did not live out in the sticks i would put carpet in mine but carpet it to hard to clean and were i live you always have stuff on your feet that will get in the cab.

I had a Jeep Comanche with vinyl floor and actual drain plugs so it was meant to be washed out.
I like the vinyl floor too, but the GM body isn't conductive to hosing it out.

Yeah mine has rubber too. I love it, so much easier to keep clean. I still keep mats over the rubber though just so the heels from my boots dont tear it or wear it down too much.

I'm thinking about getting the get from LMC and doing the same things to mine. I think they call it MIP. It's basically some sort of rubber that doesnt deteriorate or dry rot. I'm mainly doing it because my carpet is 12 years old as it is, needs replaced and with a new baby boy and i'm sure more kids in our future I want a floor covering that I don't care if they track mud into the truck after ball game or something. And I'm sure there'll be times that they'll spill some drink on the floor so I figure that it'll keep my blood pressure down when I can just wipe it up:) That'll be one of the things I do this summer sometime as I get a little extra money.

I was even looking at a brand new body style 07 and the Z71 I want has just the rubber flooring too. Its an awesome truck. They changed the texture of the rubber for the new style. Mine is an 07 classic style and the rubber floors are more of a flat whereas the new trucks have a rougher feel to em. I think GM used up all their old parts on my truck, I have taken it in for service and they said I have the wrong exhaust on it but it fits and works. Then looking at the pics I took, I have the wrong gas pedal for the year of the truck too. I have the OBS style pedal, everyone else has that little square one.

I'd be ticked off if I bought a brand new truck and found it was put together by extra parts off the scrap heap!!!
