frame differences?

what year truck frames will interchange with each other? i am guessing that 73-87 is the same right? what all years will interchange with a 1977?

Yes 73-87 have the same frames mainly just different front clip on the 73-79.

whats the difference between a 1970 frame and a 1977 frame?

1/2 and 3/4 frames are 6" thick in the middle. 1 ton frames are 8" thick in the middle. (at least on the 4x4s)

on a 77 frame, the frame rails run parallel to each other, but on a 1970, the rails will curve inward over the rear axle, on a half ton. 1 tons do not curve.
