Yes, you can do anything. Your better off doing a base coat/clear coat with a flex additive though.

The DupliColor will chip and peel, you can just keep retouching it though. Most likely, those interiors that you showed were sanded smooth and painted with a good basecoat/clearcoat. There are several good articles on here about doing it right with the basecoat/clearcoat.
