i have dual original 40 series flowmasters dumped on my truck and i think im ready for a change. ive heard a few sound clips of the dynomax ultraflows and they sound pretty good from what i can hear. and i heard a lot of people talking about dynomax bullets a while back and that they were better than glasspacks.

im probably going to end up putting 2.5in. pipes with dual exit tips on this time cuz im kind of tired of the dumped thing. i just want a deep, good sounding muffler thats pretty loud when you step on it. really dont want the raspiness of a glasspack though. what do yall think?

and if anyone else has a 5.7 350 and has a setup that im looking for, lemme know what you have and if you have anyu sound clips...

I think you got the right idea, and the Dynomax Ultraflow is probably one of the most overlooked, neglected, jewel of a muffler, because everyone's first thought is Flowmaster, or Magnaflow. I have read that a crossover, or X-pipe gets rid of any raspiness, or popping, don't know for sure? Dynomax bullets sound great, but I'd be leary about them being too loud, especially in the cab. The ultraflow is built on the same principle, but has a bigger oval case, and probably gets louder as it breaks in like the bullets, but never as loud. I'd go with the Ultraflows, because they are very efficient, and the sound builds from idle to full RPM, unlike the Flows, which lose it as you go up (prob. restriction), or the Hooker Aerochamber which is too quiet until pushed hard. Plus, you'd have less hassle from the "Sound Nazi's"

P.S. Did you hear the sound clips I posted on other threads here, of the Ultraflows?

yea, the clip of the stepside single cab with the ultraflow sounds pretty good. if the ultraflows will be just as loud if not louder than the 40's i have when you step on it, then ill probably go with them. but then one last question, how much louder are bullets than the ultraflows? if i did get a bullet, id get the longer, deeper sounding one. and i have an x pipe so im not toooo worried about it being real raspy. just dont want a lot of popping.

If you still have your Cat, and wanted loud, I'd say go for the bullets, but medium would be the Ultra's. Remember it might be a bit loud in the cab with the bullets, but either one keeps getting louder as the fibreglass burns away. One year from now, you might be sorry you got the bullets, but the Ultra's would be fine. Good Luck, Mike

I'd like to hear flowmasters new super 44 muffler.

I have a single in/dual out delta 40 with tips out the sides on my 5.7 350 and want something louder more aggressive.

My cherrybomb glasspax are similar to bullets, only longer and deeper and maybe not quite as loud. I also like the cherrybombs because they're not raspy like most other 'packs.

had never heard hooker aerochambers until just now. they sound pretty nice and deep. so i cant decide what the hell i want, aerochambers, bullets, ultraflows, or just keep my 40s...but

what kind of differences would there be if i swapped my 2 single in single out mufflers to just one double inlet double outlet one? change in low end? tone?
