i just got a 72 short bed 6cly 3on the tree , the motor is bad , but im swapping it with a 350sb. i want to know how hard it will be to convert the column shift to a 3on the floor. i would also like to custom bend the new shift lever , but thats later on .

it is not hard at all you can buy a hurst kit. you don,t even have to bend the stick i have used it many times. in fact i am putting one in my 79 in a few weeks.

now for the motor swap. the alt. goes on the drivers side of the motor with a short water pump. you have to move the frame mounts to the next set of holes forward. so it will clear the fire wall with out beating it up. for the clutch ball there is a plate that bollts to the motor. the reest of the lincage will work. even the 6 bell housing will work even the 6 clutch and flywheel will work as along as you are using a 2 pice rear main seal motor.
