Hello All
I have a 99 Chevy Tahoe LS 4 DR and love it. In the Back/Cab on the Dirvers side there's this area/compartment that houses the little floor jack and I was thinking if it was possible to do some kind of fiberglass enclosure in that same area to house a single 10" subwoofer? After useing the search feature I didnt find anything.
Any input or feedback is appreciated
Daniel

Wow! reviewed 25 times and nobody has any input or picks about what I'm talking about. I'm sure someone out there has done that kind of fabrication???

I don't have any experience with that vehicle, but I have seen some prefab boxes by MTX that fit in similar locations. It all depends on you much space that area has. You can make a sealed fiberglass enclosure easily. Just line the area with aluminum foil and put the fiberglass right in the hole. It'll all come right out and you can see how much space you have to work with.

Make sure you pick a driver that is suited for the amount of airspace you can fit in the inside of your fiberglass box and it will be fine. The beauty of custom is that you could stick it out a little further than stock, hide it behind the panel, or pretty much do whatever your heart desires. The real question for you is with your fiberglass skills how much internal airspace have you figured out that you could have in that location. If you post that it will be much easier to recommend possible drivers.
People would probably answer faster had you actually put something descriptive for a thread title.

There are threads on here on this topic... Just takes a bit of digging. Just note that there's not a ton of space for an enclosure there, so you're going to be looking at a driver that likes small sealed enclosures.

Your Right, I should have been a lil more descriptive on the thread title, my apologize (spelling) to all.
As far as which sub, I was planning on going with one of these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13309
Unfortunatly, I have no Fiberglassing skills. I am willing to get my hands dirty and learn how to fiberglass.

I have an '04 Tahoe with third row seating and I put 2 jl 10w3s in that space. I took out the panel that goes there and fab'd up a box. Plus I can still use the seats if I need to. I'm not finished with it yet as I had to go on deployment before I got it finished. But here is the link.

I'll be back home in month and I'll get it finished. It should look like the stock panel for the most part.

So after I posted the above I tried to look at my pics and they don't work. Ignore the links on my post but the ones further down work and are good examples. There are also others on here. Sorry I didn't end up being that much help. If your still looking in about a month I'll get ya some pics. Once again I'm sorry for the links.
