Ivan D. 04-16-2007, 12:55 AM How about this: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c397/terryks/shortwide003.jpg It's a late-'50s Impala dash, in a CBS truck, found it over at 67-72's forums. dueprocess 04-16-2007, 05:20 AM That is different no dout, but i would have to say it is not my style. Good job though! Joe 04-16-2007, 05:37 AM That dash looks great! 44gmcnewf 04-16-2007, 09:15 AM i peeled all the vinyl off mine, fiber glassed all the holes in and im in the process of finsishing it with body filler. I'll have pictures soon i have been so busy with work and getting the flu i havent had any time for anything. Xtremjeepn 04-16-2007, 02:26 PM I would like to see that. 44gmcnewf 04-16-2007, 06:35 PM i'll email you some pictures when i get home from work tommrow of the progess i have so far lay low 87 04-16-2007, 10:17 PM im in the process of smoothing mine. covering the original dash frame with sheetmetal, metal finish it, and do a "grinded bare metal finish" with pearl red. pics to come hopefully soon. Toolboy23 04-17-2007, 07:03 AM How bout mine, 99 tahoe dash in a 74 cab on an 80 c30 frame. I had a 1/2 ton 74 with a decent body, a rusted out 80 1 ton, and a rolled over salvage tahoe, so I decided to take all three and build one. http://webpages.charter.net/toolboy/obj8geo10pg1p5.png You can see a few more pics of it at http://webpages.charter.net/toolboy/ , although I dont have any recent pics of it. Its been busy working and pulling the camper for almost 3 years now. TT Boy 04-17-2007, 07:33 AM so how hard was it to make it work? Toolboy23 04-17-2007, 09:37 AM It was fairly difficult, and not totally complete to this day. I still need to make up some trim peices where the a-post's come down to meet the dash. The dash was actually 2 or 3 inches narrower than the cab if I remember correctly. I probably would not have done it if I didn't have the entire Tahoe. I used the engine, trans, comp, wiring, fusebox, steering column, everything. So it was only a matter of mounting things, and knowing that they should work. Plug and play because the entire elctrical harness is from the Tahoe. The only wiring I did was to solder the old light sockets onto the harnes for headlights, tails etc. http://webpages.charter.net/toolboy/ Xtremjeepn 04-17-2007, 09:42 AM That is a nice looking set up. I was thinking of something like that. But want to explore the options. Do you have any fullsize pics of the dash and the fitment? 44gmcnewf 04-17-2007, 04:27 PM If you could pm your email. I can send pics of the progress on my dash. I want to wait till i get my dash down before i post pictures . 44gmcnewf 04-18-2007, 02:50 PM email sent Xtremjeepn 04-18-2007, 04:12 PM Thanks. Looks like it will be pretty cool when done. Toolboy23 04-19-2007, 09:55 AM That is a nice looking set up. I was thinking of something like that. But want to explore the options. Do you have any fullsize pics of the dash and the fitment? Sorry, I don't have any. I need to get that truck cleaned up and get some new pics though. Maybe I can this weekend. I should take more pics during build-ups, but I never think about it till I'm done. stock4now90 04-23-2007, 07:12 AM check out these links. they are of the sheetmetal dash i did in my 90. the gauges are going in the center and will be slightly angled towards the driver. http://s175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/90cheytruck/?action=view¤t=S5030106.jpg http://s175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/90cheytruck/?action=view¤t=S5030092.jpg Xtremjeepn 04-23-2007, 09:55 AM Sweet. Thanks. Old77 04-24-2007, 09:04 AM all I did was put Dakota Digital Gauges in mine but kept everything else stock and it made a WORLD of difference. Looks awesome and I get compliments on it everywhere I go! Xtremjeepn 04-24-2007, 12:19 PM :nopics: Old77 04-24-2007, 12:25 PM I have pics of my Dakota's but I don't have them at a URL so therefore I can't seem to post them on here. Is there another way to post pics on this site outside of using a URL? I'm still pretty new to FSC. 44gmcnewf 04-24-2007, 02:18 PM You can upload pics here on fsc. lowlow81chevy 04-25-2007, 09:13 AM Found this on ebay: http://i2.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/99/00/221f_12.JPG http://i7.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/99/00/226c_12.JPG Looks good but not much room... heres the link....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-Chevy-1500-Hot-Rod-Show-Truck-Bags-Supercharger_W0QQitemZ290105409599QQihZ019QQcategoryZ6173QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Old77 04-25-2007, 09:16 AM that would be a pretty slick set up! Looks like a ton of work, though! Toolboy23 04-25-2007, 09:42 AM Yeah, thats the main drawback with mine, not to much room. I dont have a console, I just have the origanal 74 bench seat with the 99 dash. vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
