Complete custom dash in 72-91(87)?

Anyone done a complete custom dash set up in a 73-87 truck? Pics? Anyone swapped a newer dash with fabwork?

i peeled all the vinyl off mine, fiber glassed all the holes in and im in the process of finsishing it with body filler. I'll have pictures soon i have been so busy with work and getting the flu i havent had any time for anything.

im in the process of smoothing mine. covering the original dash frame with sheetmetal, metal finish it, and do a "grinded bare metal finish" with pearl red. pics to come hopefully soon.

How bout mine, 99 tahoe dash in a 74 cab on an 80 c30 frame. I had a 1/2 ton 74 with a decent body, a rusted out 80 1 ton, and a rolled over salvage tahoe, so I decided to take all three and build one.

It was fairly difficult, and not totally complete to this day. I still need to make up some trim peices where the a-post's come down to meet the dash. The dash was actually 2 or 3 inches narrower than the cab if I remember correctly. I probably would not have done it if I didn't have the entire Tahoe. I used the engine, trans, comp, wiring, fusebox, steering column, everything. So it was only a matter of mounting things, and knowing that they should work. Plug and play because the entire elctrical harness is from the Tahoe. The only wiring I did was to solder the old light sockets onto the harnes for headlights, tails etc.

Sorry, I don't have any. I need to get that truck cleaned up and get some new pics though. Maybe I can this weekend. I should take more pics during build-ups, but I never think about it till I'm done.

all I did was put Dakota Digital Gauges in mine but kept everything else stock and it made a WORLD of difference. Looks awesome and I get compliments on it everywhere I go!

Yeah, thats the main drawback with mine, not to much room. I dont have a console, I just have the origanal 74 bench seat with the 99 dash.
