The deck is several years old, but was well ahead of its time back in the day. My friend had one in his truck and the thing was a tank. It's actually made for marine applications.

Most places are discontinued, but I've found a couple places online that have them in stock for ~$200. The 3 sets of 5v preouts is something I like, and the overall look of it is nice (clean and simple).

I guess my question is, would I be missing out on any newer features in a similar (current) deck at $200 that might not have been available several years ago? I had a Pioneer Premier 680MP stolen recently and see that I could probably grab another for around the same price if I choose. Any input?

$200 is too much IMO

I am no guru like ///M5 but I would also agree that the price seems steep, just think for another 90-ish dollars you could have the Pio DEH-P880PRS or many other great decks. If it were I making the purchase, I would go for something more modern in that price range if money is tight, or save another hundred if possible and get something you can have for years to come.

I've been looking at the 880PRS as well. Money isn't really tight either...just kind of curious about this deck. There seems to be little information as far as reviews and such, and the prices literally range from $999 to $199...usually falling in between.

Now, what it is that would drive a business to sell one for $999 has me curious. Is it because it is that rare? The quality is that good? The fact that it is a marine unit that is probably better than all other marine units? No clue...

IMO, I would say dealers try to rape whomever is buying a boat on pitching the unit as "marine" but then again I am no guru.

Or is it possibly the "UV coating"...

I wouldn't buy one for $100
