Well a kid in my town wants my subs bad. He has a ext cab also so im going to sell him the box, false floor, and the subs for $525..I have been planning to build a blow-through, so i will have no use for the box anyway so i might as well get some money for it. I can get two new 15" L7's for $480 shipped and then go from there. Mine are 3 years old and im guessing getting weaker and the newer kickers must be a little better even if both were brand new. Any other subs i can get for $500 that would equal the kickers? Thanks alot

$500 isn't all that much money for two large subs

I say do it, if you do a blow through you won't be using your current box so selling it saves you from storing it in your garage for forever, plus you can buy new subs w/warranty, etc. Just my $.02

i realize $500 isnt that much, but since mine are 3 years old and have been beat on, and i can get the new model kickers, and i have no use for the box or floor anymore...I can have $525 toward new subs and a way better set up, as opposed to having no money toward the new set up and having the same old subs....

I Would Say Sell Them.

I am not a big kicker fan so I would say sell them. How much space do you have to work with and what kind of power? Do you want to stay with the 15's? Also, are you going for SQ,SPL,SQL?

I have alot of space...the new box will be in the bed of my truck. My amp is 2000 watts rms, 4000 max.

How about some Soundsplinter rl-p15's or TC2k's?

The sound splinters may be in my range...i couldnt find anything on the other subs...would 2 of the 15" SS's be louder then 2 L7's?

for spl I would take the L7 over the ss rlp. The rlp is supposed to be one sweet sounding sub from what i've heard.

i THINK one of my friends up here has one, but its a custom sub so its not totally a SS rlp....but it does sound really nice. My box isnt ported the greatest right now so i can hit everything i need to and it sounds alright, but the real lows just dont shake everything like they used to in my car. Im thinkin with the box back farther and everything going foward rather then up it may help with the freq. of the cab. well see what happens...Ill have some plans of everything drawn up soon so ill keep everyone updated.

Cars are usually louder than trucks, but if your box isn't optimal I would fix that before doing anything.

I will be building a new box that will be bigger and tuned differently then the one i currently have.

if you can still get that kinda money for them, and you are gonna change the setup, i'd go ahead and do it.
