this seemed like the best place to post this...

I entered an SPL soundoff this weekend, it was my first as an actual competitor (Ive had a hand in building several stereos that competed). I was put in the 300-600 watts class, running 2 10's, and I hit 135.3 dB, which earned me first in the class... I was fairly impressed, especially since my system is set up for sq rather than spl:D

sorry it took so long to reply, I forgot I had posted this here!

I appreciate the good words! Im running 2 jbl GTi 10's (the old ones, not the new ones) in a dual sealed enclosure that I built to fit behind the tahoe buckets in my 97 reg cab. they are powered by a Power Acoustik 520 bridged down to 2 ohms, and the head is a JVC El Kameleon (I know its a cheazy head compared to the rest, but I really like it). I have 2 sets of Clarion components powered by a small clarion amp, 6.5"s in the stock door locations and in the b pillars where the 4x6's used to be (had to trim a little), and the 2"s in the stock door locations and cross mounted in the custom console I built. it sounds funny when I describe it, and I was going to build another tweet enclosure up high and roll it off the front glass, but this setup images SO WELL I decided to leave it alone.

like I said, I built it for sq rather than sp, and I love the range it carries say, between Santana and Eminem, hehe... but I never figured such a tamely powered and sized setup would pull a 135...:D its alot easier to get big #'s when you have room for bigger enclosures, but I have my subs built in behind my seats and I roll the seats all the way to the wall! Im running just over a cubic foot of airspace for each sub, and no fill...

Damn! 7.5ft^3 is a whole lotta box for one ten. Must have taken up the entire back of the Geo. Anyone have any idea what one 12" L7 in a Tahoe might hit, with say in the neighborhood of 400watts or so and in around a 3 or 4ft^3 box?
