View Full Version : What is this? 68chevycamaro 04-22-2007, 01:01 PM Can someone tell me what this is and if theres a way I can take care of it? It's real rough in this area and I don't know really what it is.. if something has ate the wheel or what? Whats something I can do to make it look halfway decent? The roughness you're seeing and feeling is caused by the wheel surface degrading under that coating. FordeatinZ71 is right: the only way to cure the problem is to have the wheel stripped, polished, and refinished. 68chevycamaro 04-22-2007, 08:13 PM What do you mean by stripped? Can I just strip it myself or is it a far more detailed process then that? FordeatinZ71 04-23-2007, 10:16 AM i'm not exactly sure what a wheel refinishing shop uses to strip a wheel...not sure if they use a stripping wheel on a right angle grinder or if they use a chemical or a combo of the two...might call around and if you're slick enough might get 'em to tell ya...
