i have an 87 with a 4.3. I just got it running after its been sitting for 10 years. when it gets warm after about 5 minutes it smokes really bad. so i have a 350 that runs good sitting in my garage. what do i have to do to the mounts to put the 350 in?

what will i have to do to the mounts? the 4.3 mounts sit back to far to fit the v-8.

There should be hole in the frame already for the v8 mounts. You might have to hit the junk yard for the engine brackets, not sure if they're the same on the 6.

they arent, but i used em, when i converted my 86 from a 4.3 to a small block i just unbolted the mounts, bolted them to the engine, dropped the engine and trans in and bolted it in, you gotta cut off the back part of the mount but they work just as well as a small block one.

I just moved the mounts to the unused holes on the crossmember.

That's what I had to do to get my V8 in place where my V6 used to be.
