hello everyone i just bought a 83 shortbed minus motor and tranny for a street rod project its a preety straight truck ive had a 86 trans am ive been working on for years on and off and decided to part it out to make room for the truck the good news is i have a built 383 and a 700r4 that is going in this truck the truck did not have the rallys with it i am going to lower it maybe a 4-6 i want it low but not dragging how wide of a tire can i put under theese trucks without tubbing i want to use rallys maybe 15by8 on back and 15by7 on front the guy i bought it from said it had aposi in it havnt had a chance to verify this yetbut the wheels rotate the same direction when off the ground maybe a spool who knows anyways i want this truck to hook up as much as possable how do i go about this ladder bars? do they work when you drop the truck i can ramble on and on i have lots of questions so ill be posting here often when this project gets rolling let me just add that its nice to have a strong aftermarket for this project

i made my own, i bought some heim joints and some bar stock, after i lowered my truck and had it on the ground, i made my mounts and made sure the bars werent exactly parallel, but they are close, something like 25 degrees i beleive.

so after building your own did it make a big differnce on hooking up and what size rims and tires do you have

no axle wrap, ive got a set of 15x8 cragars, 3.73 gears and 28x10.5 tires. takes off pretty good, ive got 2500 stall too though.

thats about the same set up ill have in the end ill look into making or buying a 4 link i know its a truck and thier not the best to on traction
