Coupla questions

Hey all,

I have a coupla quick questions. First, is there any reason NOT to use Meguiar's #85 Diamond Cut with an orbital buffer? The bottle says that it's for using with a rotary buffer and I was wondering if there's some obscure reason that it might not work well with the orbital. I've got a PC 7336 btw.

Second, I run my truck thru a brushless car wash. What's the deal with them? Does the foam wash have any downsides?

85 is a pretty aggressive compound and needs the heat produce by a rotary to break it down. If you use it with a PC it will leave some nasty hazing on your paint.

The downside of a Touchless car wash is they use some harsh detergents that can strip or weaken your wax or sealant.

At some brushless/touchless washes, you have people at the very end of the tunnel with towels to finish drying.

Not only are they touching, they're using towels to take what dirt is left after the touchless and rubbing it on a mostly dry surface. In my experience, this does more damage than a lot of cloth wash tunnels.
