What is the diference between them ? Is it just how much power they can handle or is there more ? Also anyone know how well they would fit in a regular cab ? I was thinking maybe a couple of 12's would fit without loosing too many notches on the seat:naughty:

The L5's are last year's L7's. I'd get those because they can be had extremely cheap and they still sound awesome. I loved the L7's when they came out last year but I couldn't justify spending 350 bucks on 1 speaker for my truck when I bought all of my Infinity speakers for 300 bucks. But if you are looking for badass bass I would get the L5's. You won't notice a whole lot of difference between the two.

I may be wrong but i think that those subs hit better in bigger boxes. I know a guy that has an L5 12" being pushed by a Lightning audio 1000 watt amp (or a big one that they offer) and it sounds so bad ass. Very tight loud bass, he has 1 12 and the box goes all the way across the back seat. This way you have more space for that sub, you cut that in half and they will be starving for space. Also they sound better in a ported box. I would say to get a custom box built by a prof so that you dont spend alot of money and not get the most out of the sub. Also using a big amp will also help tons, they are very powerfull subs and need lots of power. I would have one but the lift broke the budget, so i have an Rockford HE2 with alittle Fosgate sub and it sounds pretty good. Also those Rockford Subs are also powerfull, i would highly recomend the HE2's and the Power Hx2's

solo's just like the compvr's are designed specifically for small enclosures

not sure why yours would sound better in a bigger box...

as for the square ones I would say get ya a couple of the old round solo's or even compvr's (they have HUGE deep bass)

I still don't trust all the weird shaped subs, to many edges to be moving under 150+ db

NO they aren't... Look at the specs. Last years L7s took way more power than the current L5s... and i'm also guessing u haven't heard them against each other. The new L7s sound alot better than the l5s. But the L7s require to much air space if ur gonna run em under the seat, unless u got a amp with some major balls...

Funk that's what i thought at first, but the solobaric have to be the best bang for ur buck in subs... If anyone here thinks the type R alpines sound good, the kickers sound alot better. I'd recomend anyone to get kickers, they love small spaces and give off really tight souding base

Which would you recommend for a regular cab the L5's or L7's ? They would be going behind the seats . Right now I have a RF punch 800.2 amp,but am thinking of getting a jbl 1200.1

the rockford I had on em pounded them like nothing i've ever heard

then I went to 2 15" kicker comps in my toyota spl truck

now I have 2 12" compvr's under my rear seat

Im a kicker man by heart

Would my RF 800.2 be enough to push to 10" L5's ?

Yes, that amp should be a power 2 10L5's.
Funk, tell me more about your setup under your truck's rear seat.

we raised the seat brackets by 3 1/4 inches by cuting them apart and welding in a spacer

the box's are home made by me with 2 12" kicker compvr's the amp pushing them is a kicker zr360 with subwoofer module

power to the amp(s) is from a stinger distribution block, and a red neon tube lighting up the system

the mids all 4 kicker resolutions are powered by a rockford 220a2 mounted on the tranny hump under the seat behind the kicker amp
