I have a 98 sierra and a 97 honda civic. do these kits involve taking apart my headlights? i don't have a problem with doing so, i was just wondering what is involved in your conversion? is there any cutting or is it a bulb and wiring deal? I'm new to the HID scene.

no sir for both of those vehicles (and for most) there is not cutting or having to take them apart, you just plug and play. installation on civics and most chevys are super easy. and, i have civic 8000K and chevy truck 6000K in stock!
the install is easy, i'll PM you my directions i pack with each kit so you can see what is involved

Technicaly, they are all the same brightness.
Those numbers are the color temperature in kelvin. The higher the number, the more blue it looks. For reference, halogens are around 3400k and sunlight is 5000-5500k. Due to the eye accenting colors close to sunlight, 5500-6000k will probably appear the brightest, but some people like the look of a little more blue.

4300 puts out the most light, 6000 next, and 8000. as your temperature (the 4 digit number, measured in kelvin) increases, the light shifts towards the blue spectrum, creating a bluer light that gets darker as you get higher in numbers, and eventually shifts into the end of the light spectrum, purple (12000+K).
personally, i think 5000k puts out the most light. 4300k puts out more light on paper (measured in lumens) but it is almost a halogen color without projectors, whereas 5000k its a sharper, more clean white, so it illuminates the road better IMO
