I'm thinking about buying some kobalt tools in the future, but are they any good?

For the average home backyard repairs, they will be fine.
Do they have a lifetime warranty like Craftsman?

This is what they say on their website: "Lifetime hassle-free guarantee on hand tools."

I was not able to find any details on the guarantee to determine if it was truly a no-questions-asked guarantee.

if you use them everyday like mechanics probably not cause they dont have trucks that come around giving out replacements like MAC, snap-on or craftsman

The older USA made ones are a great buy if you can find them. However, if one was to break you would end up with some Taiwan knock off. The early Kobalt line was made my JH Williams, who makes excellent industrial tools (think Armstrong, Proto, Wright). William's tools is now considered Snap-On's industrial brand.

Kobalts are good, I work for lowes and use their tools every day. The warantee is good, bring them in and swap them out just like sears. I like them a little more than craftsman but the kolbalt brand pliers, channellocks, etc... a lot of things like pliers with the hinge are junk.

I know they make some damn good tool chest. They are 10 times better than craftsman chests.
