That looks nice, does that 4" in the rear include taking out the block or is that 4" plus removing the block? What size tires are you running in that pic?

How much drop is that and what size are the tires?

Its was about a 3/4 in the front and a 6 in the rear. I used Belltech keys and Mcguaghy spindles in the front, in the rear I took out the lift blocks and installed hangers and shackles.

what do you mean by 3/4 in the front, 3-4 inches? im still learning about all this lowering 4x4 buisness. did you have to do anything with your drive shaft (front or rear) so they are still fanctional?

when a 4x4 is lowered, the driveshafts are actually under LESS stress, as they are more in line with each other. Dont have to do anything to em.

No I didnt make it. Actually I didnt even hear about it! That wheel/tire setup looks nice. I dont know which way to go. My truck gets back from paint next week and then Im going to put in a belltech 3/4 drop and the only thing I dont know what to do is put 18's or 20'. To many choices.

You can proubly lower 3"/4" all together and be ok. Im pretty sure nbs 4x4 can fit a bigger tire than obs and im rollin on 22" 026's w/ 40 series tire 3/4 drop.

hey, im no expert on this matter, but my truck does have the lowering kit, i dont think u can get much lower than 3" with a static drop while still maintaining the 4wd. i do know that u could go lower wit the 2wd. but correct me if im wrong (i am only 15 u know).

my dad filled up the other day and spent $100 on diesel (this was on an f-250 runnin on fumes, and he filled it). way too expensive. plus my tahoe doesnt get the best fuel milege in the world, i got 17 on the way to the shop. still havnt gotten the thing back, Belltech sent us some faulty springs. :banghead: so we had to send em back, wont be on the road for another week. :bawl: so i hope to get som pics soon.

ya, i usually get about 15-16 on highway (i take the highway to get to the shop that the hoe' is at) anywhere from 10-14 around town.

well we did have the truck running and on the road with the faulty spring, while we were filling it up we noticed the rear passenger side wheel was offset in the wheel well, so we took it back and took it back apart, looked at both the leafs and they looked totally different!. so ill live. but belltech is paying for shipping and the new parts, so i dont have to fork out more money because they skrewed up (thats always a good thing). expect pics next week some time. here are some pics of the truck before the lowering kit, just to tide everyone over lol:

Is there a 2/2 4WD kit out there? Can I just adjust the Torsion bars on the front to get a little drop? I have been looking through all the drops, and the 265/70-17 07 Silverado Wheels are about an inch taller than the 245/75-16's stockers I had on there. They are essentially the same diameter as the Z71 265/75-16's that were available for my 99 'Hoe. When I look at the 3/3.5 drops like Tahoen's, I think it might be just a bit too low for my comfort. Especially since the 265's look wider and have a better chance of rubbing the fenders if dropped too low. I don't tow with this truck, that's what my 93 GenIII Sierra is for, I am looking to lower more for aero/handling than all out looks. ANybody know if the Police Z56 Tahoe rear springs sit the truck any lower? The GM parts catalog does not show a different spring for the regular Tahoes and the Z56 POlice package, but I know the front sits lower.

Looks like the Belltech kit is adjustable, anybody have any feedback on the setup? Any worries about pinion angle when you put the drop shackles on the back?

if i remember right, a couple people told me that it actually improves the pinion angle from stock. and yes the torsion bars are adjustable. i believe you can adjust them from about 1-3"

to tell ya the truth, i wanna change the whole paint job to a two tone. thinkin silver and black wit a orange pin stripe between em'. then ill probably color match em' but for now ill just pull the covers. :) thanks guys. I wanna go bigger on the wheels but i dont have the money right now. thinkin 22" centerline smoothies. I love the look of the blank wheels.

As far as performance/handling goes, which is better to do.
Lowering Control Arms or Drop Spindles???
i see if you use the control arms, you do not have to go with a 17"+ rim.

as far as the spindles does anybody know about the 17" rim thing, ive heard they have to be stock 17's?? why not aftermarket 17's american racing or even black steel rims. i just need for the winter.

thanks man, put som effort into this thing so far, got some issues though... the tires rub on the fender lip when we hit ANY bump what so ever... it didnt do it when we first got it back but now it decides to do it. any reasons y? my dad and i were thinkin that the shocks were shot. would it be wise to invest in a pair of drop shocks? or what would be my best option. i want to keep it as low as possable without it totally f-ing up my car. any suggestions would help here guys so if you could help a kid out here that would be great. kinda desperate. btw i just picked up a pair of 20's that are 275 55 R20s i know that the R20 means the wheel size but will this combo work on my truck?? we have some allignment issues too so we are currently taking it to a shop. but if it is alligned will it work wit a 3" drop up front?? HELP PLEASE:help: :help: :help:

Those are the tires I am running. They don't rub unless I hit a very big bump. The front end on you truck probably settled down more after you drove it. Get it aligned, crank the tbars just a little to stop the rubbing. I had to reset mine after I got it aligned. New shockes couldn't hurt.

I have the same size tire as you currently and have only hit a handful of times and that was on some big bumps/potholes. I have the nitro drop shocks. Don't know if that's the difference or not.

arent those stock for tahoes??? if they are, then i dont see any reason they shouldnt. they worked just fine with my tahoe. i found out the reson for the rubbing... my shocks are shot, so until i get new ones we cranked the front up about an inch so it only rubs a lil on the big bumps, still looks mean, but i wanna get those 20's to fit. :bawl: gotta get it alligned still so i hope that will help. has anyone gone as low to have to use tubs?

i havent raised or lowered my truck...since ive only had it a week now...but HUGE, MONSTEROUS Props to ALL of your trucks. I didnt see one I wouldnt own...I have Zero clue why i ever owned a Ford now...
