Hi yes I have the Tunerpro RT. I'm having trouble setting it up? It's looking for a XDF file, I know mine is a 4F. What is a EDS file? and also asking for bin file? How do I set up the dash to display info? has all 000's ? My truck is a 90' 454ss I'm also using a Moates OSTRICH in place of a chip. Thanx for any help- I'm very lost at this point! Charlie

For XDF files and bin files for using TunerPro RT....visit moates.net. You will be prompt for a username and password.

Questions about installing programs & what files I need? Once I'm up & running I'll try to handle the tunning from there. I was emailed the 4f XDF files for my truck- 90' 454ss with a 1228747 ecm. I'm having trouble with the ALDL dataloging & setup! I'm missing something, but not sure what! Would you mind talking about this over the phone instead of emails?

You have a XDF file but you still need a bin file. Go to moates.net and do the steps for the username adn password to get it.

Tunerpro, at least some older versions, seams to have difficulty with ALDL on that ecm. I have never been able to datalog with it. For datalogging I use WinALDL with an AutoPROM.

Hi Heavychevy does the Win ALDL give you real time logging like Tunerpro RT? Can I datalog & emulate at the same time? You have a 90' also - so you must have a 1228747 ECM ? what problem did you have with tunerpro? Thanx for info! Charlie

It does not do emulation or chip burning. It only lets you see what is going on.
I have not been able to get TunerproRT to datalog. I have only read & burned chips with it. & yes I also have the 8747 ecm.
WinALDL is a free download. I don't have the link but it should not be hard to find.

I have tunerproRT and I always have problems getting it up and emulating. You need to follow the steps in the help file to the "T". But once I get it working, it makes life so easy. I never really cared for the dash board feature. Luckily I have an EBL now and it has an awesome dash board display/datalogger.

I'm not trying to turn this into an EBL thread, but the learn feature makes life a lot easier when messing with the fuel tables, especially if you have a WB02.

In short the EBL is a bada$$ computer for TBI engines. I noticed today that he just came out with FLASH version that does away with the CHIP entirely. I have the "classic" so I wouldn't know much about the flash. Here is the link to his site.

This isn't an EBL thread...
EBL comes with it's own dashboard/datalog/diagnostic software that rocks.
Changes to .bin (outside of VELearn) can be made with Tunerpro.
Moates Burn1 hardware/software + 27SF512 chips= DIY tuning

Sounds like we're speaking the same language 91ChevZ71. I'm using the autoprom for emulation, IMO it can't be beat when it comes to DIY tuning. Yeah, the Flash looks pretty sexy.

Here is my set up for tuning,

Cable from laptop to the EBL jack for the What's up display and "learning"
Cable from laptop to the autoprom for emulation
Cable from autoprom to the computer, this cable goes where the chip would be. If pics are needed let me know :cool:

Go driving and change things as needed, this is where the autoprom and tuner proRT come in handy (Registerd copy of tunerproRT comes with the purchase of the autoprom). Of course I pull over first :wink: Come home burn new chip with the new parameters, pull everything out, button everything back up and I'm good to go.

I used to use TunerCat more than TunerPro but with each new release of TP, I find myself using it almost exclusively. As for emulating, I like the Ostrich more. The emulation features are better but the AutoProm with its all in one capability is nice too. The EBL is set up to work with TunerPro which will emulate but if you were really handy you could make TunerCatRT work if you wanted. HTH

ok WinALDL will datalog for me, but I'm not liking the format, Tunerpro I can't read in RT & can't seem to datalog? WTF am I doing wrong? Right now I wish I went with a F A S T XFI! This **** aint workin!

And this is why I haven't gotten into DIY tuning yet. I've been reading on here for well over a year and it still scares the hell out of me. The farthest I've gotten is datalogging w/ datamaster. I'd hate to plunk down the $$$$ for the equipment and still not be able to do anything with it. I'm tempted as hell to download the tunerpro program but I don't think I'd be able to stop there. Then I'd have all the stuff to keep me warm at night either in the basement or in my truck in the driveway after the wife kicks me out. :eek:

You need to continue researching. I read for 3 years before purchasing any equipment of any kind. For real, you have more reading to do, and I promise it will become more comfortable as you go along.

Can someone walk me thru setup & tell what I'm doing wrong?What exactly are you trying to do? Where are you getting stuck? Are you trying to datalog, emulate, edit .bin file? You must be much more specific if you expect to get help. if you are trying to datalog only, as mentioned, TP has problems datalogging the older 160 baud ECM's. You would be better off datalogging with Win ALDL.
