Back when I had my '85 1500, i aquired(sp?) an edelbrock performer intake. It's for a carbureted motor, but I was wondering if that intake would work with my current 1990 1500 w/ the 350tbi motor. It'd be nice to get that thing out of my basement and put it to use. Is there a carburetor to tbi adapter plate out there? Or is the manifold basically useless to me for that motor?

Hey Bud,

There's an adapter, however im not sure as if the intake manifold itself is a bolt on. Gotta research that out. PM me for help on the tbi to carb adapter if it all bolts on. I just dunno if theres a difference between gen 1 and 2 bolt holes like there is for vortec.

Yes it will work!! First you need to get yourself a carb to tbi adapter plate from holley or jetperfomnce etc. Then with the bolt pattern issue. The pattern is the same from older to newer block until the vortec. BUT the centre 4bolt hole will need to be elongated and a washer used to get everything lined up. On the newer block's the centre bolts are at a slightly different angle than the older ones. Not a big deal if your confident in your skills?? You will see what I meen if you compare the 2manifolds. I hope that this helps you some???

very cool, thanks for the replies. i completely forgot about this thread until like 10 min ago lol. i did a little bit of research and found that the manifold is not 100% bolt on, but it is do-able and there's an install kit out for. it looks like its just a few bolts and washers for the most part but, they want $75 for it. i'm pretty sure i can make my own "install kit" for a lot cheaper. i just need to find the adapter for the throttle body now.

i was wrong. i went to get the link and i read more closely and it was a pre '86 intake manifold to '87-'95 intake manifold adapter kit for a blower...whoops.
