My "SA- IAT/CTS COMP Bias" constant is 9.84 deg, while the table "SA- IAT/CTS comp" is all 9.84. My bias is cancelling out the table, I think...anybody have any idea what the CTS/IAT SA numbers should look like from -40C to 151C? I know every engine is different, just need somewhere to start.

Thanks for any help!

could be the start of the FSC EBL thread...

How many EBL dudes are there?
Hey Fast/Haulin- any reason why you guys aren't running an EBL?
pure curiousity

im not runing an ebl but my coolant comp vs load table is zeros between 32-92deg celsius. above 92 it starts pulling timing and below 32 it ads some timiong.

I have the EBL running my 1987 GMC Jimmys 3.1 TBI.

I run Mass Air Flow setup with the TBI on my 1983 G20 though.

pure curiousityThe EBL is a nice package but the reason I don't run one is because all my trucks have electronic transmissions. If I had a truck with a C3 style ECM I would either have it converted to EBL or run a later TBI PCM.

cool thanks.

Yeah, I always forget about the electronic tranny

Justed reduced my idle by 1.5 deg, smoothed it it up a little more. *almost* as good as the old L05's idle- Amazing that just a little change like that makes such a difference.

Here is my low VE table. My question is when in drive at idle (open loop), AFR is about 13.4/5 when I've been sitting for a minute or two and about 12.5 right after coming to a stop. Engine is 700 rpm, 40 MAP solid, about 18 counts IAC, 25-26 deg SA. When I shift to neutral (idle speed still set in chip to 700 rpm, same as drive) the MAP drops to 35-36, still 700 RPM after climbing slightly and settling back down to 700, no change SA, but AFR dips to 11-12. My question is if VE is less (700 RPM 35 MAP compared to 700 RPM 40 MAP) why am I dropping in AFR? I guess I could lean it out a bit, I'm just surprised at the change in AFR from only 4% MAP.
THanks for looking!!

got the new "Flash" EBL today...awesome. I've been tuning so much I haven't been able to use my glovebox... now I have the glovebox back nice to have one usb cable and that's it. updated bin/xdf also.

anybody need a Burn1 chip burner? lol

I just ordered my EBL. But I have a 4l60e to mess with also. I already made the adapter harness and it currently runs and drives with a 7747 as the engine control and the 7427 doing all the shifting. Actually works out pretty good. Can not wait to start tuning this thing.

With the EBL flash can you upload a new program while the engine is running?? Like you can with the ostrich.

Hi chevyz71man, Did the vss from the 4l60e work ok for the older ecm? You run into any problems with the piggyback? Im thinking about adding in a 730 ecm for a multiport setup on my 93. How much does that whole ebl setup cost? Thanks, Dave

Yes you can upload while running. I always pull over to upload/reprogram. It has eight slots for eight bins

The EBL Flash is $360. I made the harness for 35 bucks, and it works perfect. I have no idea if the VSS works yet because the ebl is not here yet. Once it is here I will know. The only thing it would be for is TCC lockup which the 7427 takes care of. But the EBL uses it for mileage calc. Once I get it I will let you know.

I would run a EBL with the multiport set up. Although there are lots of hacks out there for the 730 to.

Alright well the EBL Flash is installed and working wonderful. I used the VSS buffer signal to the EBL and the MPH is right on. For the Spark control module I just spliced the knock sensor wire in half and connected each side the the correct location and then connected ground and ign+. It works perfect, did not even change the sensor and I have not been getting false knock yet. I just got the BIN all set up for open loop and BLM held at 128, disabled TCC, EGR, and CCP. So tomorrow I can start tuning. Also wired my LC1 into the EBL works wonderful, just had to change the LC1s options. I am sure I will have plenty of question as I go. .480" and 230 at 50 make kind of choppy idle. But it sounds so good.

Running the $0D 16197427 TBI MAF setup is really leaps and bounds above EBL IMHO, because it's cheaper, provides the same sensor inputs (except we can't control nitrous); big whoop you can't have it autolearn because the ecu/pcm doesnt process as fast as the EBL.

The way that fuel and spark are de-coupled really makes the tuning a lot easier.

MAF is much better than SD due to the fact that the newer Vortec trucks are running it and it has much more resolution and depth adjustment.

Did i forget to mention that you can use a MAF, Control temp enables for electric fans, and have your input sensory data for the wb02 all through this stock-type ecu?

Besides, your coming a step ahead in time whereas the EBL still uses the old ECU's w/ a big piggyback basically. I'll eventually get an LS1 to back behind my Keisler 6/454 14bsf rear, and will run the vortec pcm so I have Forced Induction capabilities. This will also allow me to learn basic knowledge of the vortec pcm for my future upgrade while i'm working on tuning my current PCM.

PS: Just a little bit of devils advocate. Trust me though, if it weren't for the fact that I had this conversion done @ 250.00ish including the wideband 02 sensor and Vortec MAF sensor I really would have probably gone the other way. Okay, i'm lying but at least it sounds good. ;-)

You have a bunch of good points, that's for sure. I really like the EBL package for the ease of use for newbies! Can't beat it. Yeah, I will eventually get a MAF system. too cool.
