have any of you taken the gas tank out behind the seat and put a sub there? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much room is back there and how many subs or what size sub I can put back there to get a loud yet clear sound hehe. also has anyone put 6x9's under the seats? does it sound alright?

pretty much the same amount of room behind the seat in any standard cab chevy.............not much:D so you can't use subs that need big volume enclosers or subs that have huge magnets on the back:D sucks but i'm sure you can figure somthin out........................6x9s work really well in the cab corners behind the seat (if the tank is removed)

It is not as big as you would think....I managed to fit 2 JL w4 8's in a ported enclosure, with an amp rack in the top of the box. If you plan and work closely with the box specs for your subs it can work. I made several calls to JL when I was designing my box because the space is so tight. We arived at a wedge design that has the 8's in the passenger side and the port in the cab corner on the drivers side. The port is 14" long and about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. And I have to say that it rocks! Hits really low and hard. There are some really good small enclosure subs out there, just look around you will find something that will work.

My goal is to fit a 10w6v2 back there with two amps. I think it can be done but I will not know until I get my new seat (which I still have to find.
