I have been searching the net for instructions on how to make an aldl cable. Can someone tell me if the 1992 tbi trucks have the 5 volt signal or the 12 volt signal.
Also if you made your own cable, what website did you get the schematic from?
Thanks
Lynn

Is there a sticky on this topic? I've seen references to using free software and purchasing the cable (or as here, making your own), but not a big topic as a "How-To".
That would be swell.

Thirdgen.org has it all, but if someone PM's me, i'll make sure to put together a post on what you need for an ALDL cable, and some different types and such.
It all depends on what your running for an ecu.
The older ecu's use WinAlDL, and Datamaster and TunerCat
The newer pcm's use Datamaster and Tunerpro and TunerProRT and TunerCat
Look them up to see which ones are free, and which aren't.
Buy the ALDL cable from Craig @ Moates.net . . . . . Elsewise you get what you pay for.
aldlcable.com sells them too but i've heard issues with them lately so i personally wouldn't buy one there.
You can make your own but IMHO it's not worth it, but that's just me.
I'll get you the schematics, but like I said if someone is interested i'm going to need a reminder PM.
