View Full Version : Powerwashing carpet?? WetPaintYukon 07-18-2007, 02:23 AM Is there anything to worry about if I do this?? CKTA 07-18-2007, 06:32 AM No, just use a wide not pointed spray pattern. onewingedangel 07-18-2007, 08:02 AM I do it all the time on vehicles at my work. I usually spray a cleaner on it and then power wash it( out of the vehicle of course). Don't get to close the the carpet or the fibers will come out. The foam backing sometimes falls off so make sure you have some spray adhesive lying around. Anymore ?'s feel free to ask! I detail for a living so I know a little something about this kind of stuff! Toolboy23 07-18-2007, 10:21 AM I have also done it many times, just dont spray in one place to long and as ckta said use a wider spray tip. WetPaintYukon 07-18-2007, 11:50 AM Does it work good?? onewingedangel 07-18-2007, 02:56 PM Depends on how bad the stains are. it'll be a major improvement but it's not going to look brand new or anything. WetPaintYukon 07-18-2007, 03:14 PM Man the carpet is **** with a capital T. Ima spray it down with greased lightning before I even think about washing it. Pete-FWA 07-18-2007, 07:30 PM Let me ask the obvious: you are removing the carpet from the vehicle before you spray it, correct? I've seen shops that like to pressure wash rubber floors in work trucks. That is OK until the water gets around or through the matting and into the backing, gets musty, and STINKS. Well, that and when the pressure washer would blast into fuse panels and other electronics. Almost makes the truck look like a flood damamged vehicle. WetPaintYukon 07-18-2007, 10:57 PM Ofcourse, my name isnt stook. Pete-FWA 07-19-2007, 10:24 PM Ofcourse, my name isnt stook. vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
