I have ordered numerous times from Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com). While they carry a vast array of racing specific items that do not apply to the truck enthusiast, they do also carry many items that do.

I have found their customer service to be extremely well organized, their order intake process keeps me informed via e-mail, and if it's not in stock or they have to special order it, they DO NOT LIE and say it's in stock. They have a handling fee that is very nominal, and little or no shipping charges for most items, and their prices are extrememly competitive.

I always check with them first if I see something neat that I'd like to buy. Only if they don't have it, will I even consider to go elsewhere. - Dave:)

As far as most Tech support and looking up weird parts, I had good luck with summit, Even if your looking for something thats not in the catalog, as long as its a company they deal with, they can hook you up.
But 2 years ago, when I sold my 90' 454SS. The new owner had cracked the GTS Light covers which I had purchased them from Summit (they left with the truck when I sold it) so he calls them to get the replaced under GTS's Lifetime warranty. This whole time, I know nothing about this, I barely even know the guy who bought my tuck, I just know he works down the road from where I work. Back to my ordeal, In the meantime I'm getting these post cards from Summit, saying Sorry for the delay, the part is still on Back order....And I'm like....UHHHHH, I didnt order this, so I mail back the portion that says if you want to cancel this order, just mail this in...So I do. Then they credit my credit card 35 bucks or whatever they had cost me back in 98 When I got the truck. So I'm like COOL! Then I get my Credit Card Statement a month later....with a chage from Summit for 45.00, so I call them up, and ask them what it was for, and that I never recieved it. So they look it up and say that it was for light covers and they were delivered and accepted a week prior....So I ask the address where they shipped it....TO THE GUY WHO had my old truck! SO I ask them if its normal policy to bill someones credit card with out their consent, and ship it to a totally different address and such! They charged me 45.00 cause the price had gone up since I had originally ordered it. I spend the better part of 2 days on the phone with Summit. I even went so far as to go over and talk to the purchaser of my truck, He was a real nice guy and understood totally what my problem was, even HE called them up and said, you made a mistake, that they should be billed to him and such, We even had a confrence call with a "supervisor" at Summit, and they refused to do anything about it. So the guy paid me back in cash for his light covers, and I changed my CC number so Summit couldnt screw with me anymore. Since then I shop only Jegs. Summit has nice stuff, but that whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth.

I agree, Summit is awesome! I recently ordered a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta-Flow, and HD exhaust clamps. I had opted. for 2nd day air, but received the package in 1-day! :happy: Excellent service! :read:

i usually try to go with jegs.

my friends brother was build an engine(mild 355) and he ordered pistions and pistion rings from summit.

first he ordered the pistions, they sent him normal 350 ones, not the +30 pistions. so he sends them back and then gets the right pistons.


so about a week later he orders pistion rings, and guess what? they do the same exact thing to him.

i'm not saying i dont order from summit, but if i had a choice between summit and jegs, i would go with jegs
