These wheels are a pain in the ass to keep clean. I haven't cleaned them in a week and look at all the crap thats built up on them already
So I went out and bought the 2 pc Mothers kit with the polish and the power ball. That thing works wonders.

I use a wash mitt and soap/water on mine. They look like they did 2 years ago when I bought them. Chrome is the easiest to keep clean.
Besides one that got damaged from a huge ass rock when mudding.

Well the rear wheels stay clean, but the brake dust kills the front wheels :read:
I also painted the wiper arms black today and took off some of the crappy pin striping that was on my truck. I'm really happy how the wiper arms came out. I tried to lower them and they went lower but when I hit the wipers they just went back to how they were :cussing:

Those rims are chrome, why are you using a powerball? haha...powerballs are mainly used with aluminum polish so you can buff the hard spots. (I hope you wern't using aluminum polish on your chrome wheels!, alumnium polish has a fine abbrasive in it that's not good or meant for chrome)
Just use a soft rag and some windex (without amonia) and you will get a mirror like shine.

I think the polish might have been aluminum polish :dunno:
What would happen if I used aluminum polish on chrome wheels??

Nothing major the first time. Just don't do it again! (I think )

Just use soap and water on them man. I've never used anything else on mine, never needed to. Brake dust and anything else that gets on them comes right off. Chrome is very, very easy.
BTW, Nice job on those wipers!:D

Theres a little tab that you slide out with a screw driver. Then just pull them off. Mine came off pretty easy with a little effort.
Blazenlo- the wheels look amazing. I may just use your way of cleaning them from now on.

do the wipers have to be up for tab to come out?

Actually yes they do. Which is the reason your in a pickle. Just put your wipers on, stand outside the truck and catch them when they go to the top of the windshield and put them up, then slide the tab out :read:

turn your wipers on then turn the ignition off wnen they are at the highest point and they'll stay. then like camaroguy said lift the arm um and pry the tab. i tried forever to pull um off then i lifted the arm to try get a better angle and the damn tab popped off with ease :banghead: a satin or a gloss black would be the best bet for stock i painted mine flat and it looks off.
p.s camaroguy nice looking truck and the wheel tire combo's great, and i'm glad you painted the wipper arms cleans up the truck alot. have you ever thought of taking off the small silverado badge between the cab and door it would clean up the truck real well, especially with the new badges on the truck. just my $.02 tho :aniteef:

Nice wheels. I let mine stay dirty for too long and they are now getting pits around the spokes. I think it is too late to save them now.

**After pics tomorrow. I got caught up in doing some stupid **** and didn't have time to snap pics. The Z71 you see there is adhesive residue from the old sticker. I got it off after using 3M Adhesive remover and a towel. It really took it out of me. That was a pain to get off. And the ****ty pinstriping you see on the drivers side in the pic is all gone now :D Pics tomorrow :D**

haha thanks a lot man. I might just do painted handles/mirrors/tailgate handle real soon. The only reason I wanted all new paint is because the pin striping really ruined the look of the truck. Then I realized I can take it off. Now I'm thinking theres really no reason for paint since this paint is basically immaculate. We'll see.

looking better everytime. and yeah for 15 year old paint it still looks really good, and it dosent look like you got alot of dents either. save the $$ from painting and put it elsewhere. speaking of painting i'm surprised the z71 sticker and pinstriping did'nt leave a darker red underneath cause reds fade bad usually, i know the LS badge i removed was a hair darker underneath not too noticeable unless you look, but i see it :cussing:

Heres the after pics on the Z71 sticker. I didn't get around to undercoating yesterday since it rained all day long :teddy: I might try and do it today. We'll see.

Good job. Lots of little improvemements = A BIG improvement. That mirror is rightous dog.
That's not a billet piece...it's a sheetmetal overlay.....it looks horrible w/ those "square" cutouts. :sorry: but you should "loose" that.

 Theres no reason to be sorry, because I feel the same way about it. As soon as I put it on I said, that was definately not worth taking half the dash apart for :read:
