Here is my forever project...'97 Tahoe with 06 SS front end, nbs bed sides, nbs handles, 6 lug conversion on the front, narrowed 6 lug disc brake'01 suburban rear end, still working on NBS mirrors, seats, and dash...might need some help with thoise things... anyone with a helping hand?! Take a look..there are old and new pics.....http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/0006.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/0005.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/100-0043_IMG_1.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/100-0047_IMG_2.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/102_0270_1.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/123_2371.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/123_2370.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/123_2364.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/167_6710.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/167_6709.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/167_6705.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/167_6703.jpg

Ed, I live near Van Buren Blvd and the 91 fwy, I do still have the original seats/interior... until I get brackets made for the NBS seats I have to hang on to them...but they will go soon enough, keep in touch!

Chevy should have made a 2door 99-07 tahoe/yukon

The 2 door Tahoe did carry until 99 but I agree they should have kept making them. Chuggernaut has a photoshopped 2 door in his revolving sig that is awesome looking.

"Do you have any pictures of under the hood with everthing moved? What's next? What color(s) are you going to do?"
sory no pics under the hood yet, I will get some soon. Next to do is get the NBS mirrors and interior pieces mounted. Color......not sure on that yet

"yeah. i tried to put nbs buckets in my 86 but the seats put me to high up. i work off arlington.. what shop is doing your work or is that all you?"
All the work so far has been performed by Pro Design in Santa Ana and suspension by a shop in Placentia that I would rather not name.....trying to put together the rest of it by myself..

"Looks amazing, what wheel is that?"
The wheels are Centerline "Rotary"

"It's sick but I think the crewcab with the Budniks is nicer"
I love my crew cab too, it rides soo nice for being bagged and four linked, then again it is not all cut up like the Tahoe and my other rides..LOL. As you can tell by my username I am a Budnik guy and this Tahoe will not be complete until it is rolling Budniks!! I cannot wait to roll the Tahoe out on a trailer with the crew cab pulling it.....soon at the Ludikris show Aug 19th.

"thats super sick man!!
escalade bumper??"
Thanks man, not an Escalade bumper is a Silverado SS bumper and the theme is continued throughout as you can see the SS clading all the way around it..

"wheels look like ass. everything else is badass"
Thanks for your opinion, they are not my first wheel of choice...Budnik would be of course... but these are real nice quality wheels and I think they look pretty sharp!

"getting sick with it eh?! :) it was cool with the front end but its even better that you went all out to do the rear as well.. nice job... suggestions?...roll pan - thats all"
...sick of it ...NEVER, wish it was closer to completion, YES!! LOL. Thanks for the suggestion of a roll pan, but, I am "cloning" a Silverado SS and have the rear bumper facia from a Silerado SS back there.. :)

"suggestion? OK, paint that bish and get it back on the road.... its gonna be baddazz."
could not agree more brother...

"Badass project. Just make sure you don't give up on it and run it over with a cat like some other member."
I am not going to do what Carson did with his Cadi skinned Tahoe, his Tahoe was sweet and I almost blew chunks watching that video. He is a cool cat though and definitely has passion for truck customizing, too bad the Tahoe is a goner.. RIP, hopefully I can help fill the void for a crazy ass Tahoe for everyone to enjoy, most notably myself!!

I am in absolute awe as I look at your creation!!!

That IMO is the cleanest SUV imaginable. The OBS lines and the NBS front and rear! I love the Silveraado tails in there and the bedsides!! too fuggin sic!!

What are the plans for the interior?? and have you thought about final wheel choice?? is it keeping the 24" shoes?? Whatabout brake upgrades, please tell me some Baer or Wilwoods will be back there.

First off, thanks everyone for all you input and support. And if you ever see my crusin roll up and say hey, especially the other day off the 215 and La Cadena, since my battery dies and I was stranded for a little bit...LOL. And a few answers to some questions.....

What are the plans for the interior?? and have you thought about final wheel choice?? is it keeping the 24" shoes?? Whatabout brake upgrades, please tell me some Baer or Wilwoods will be back there.
The plans for the interior are to go NBS, hoping to be able to work a dash, some NBS style door panels, and already have the seats...anyone offer any help on the dash swap?! I like the look of the 24's not sure until i get to roll it around a little bit to decide if that will be the size of choice, my final choice of wheel will be BUDNIK, they better start making 24's.....in regards to brakes, I just had a brake upgrade on my crew cab, SSBC rotor, 4 piston caliper, and master cylinder and I really like the look and performance...so brake upgrade is definitely a MUST!!

Do you have anymore pictures of the crew cab short bed?
I am trying to piece one together now and need some different wallpapers to get me through. They are pretty hard to come by like that.

The the tahoe looks awsome and for the people who say u should get a roll pan i think it looks badass with the bumper and da crew cab looks effin mean.
Thanks, i like the bumper too since it keeps the SS theme going...with the SS clading it would look a little odd with a roll pan since the cladding extends out an inch or so at the end of the rear qurter panel.

I cant seem to find a better picture of the Centerline 'Rotary' anywhere. Do you have the first set or something?
I do not think I have the first set...but i have never seem them on anything before either... here is a little better pichttp://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t300/customcruiser/167_6712.jpg

definitly nice, i like the SS clone thing very unique, the bumper has to stay to continue that theme i like very much
Thanks man, glad you like the vision too

holy ****, how hard was front end, what was all involved with taillights and door handles?
you are right on holy **** is right on the front end, is a major undertaking and all I can say it is done right! The tailights were incorporated when the bed sides were grafted on complete with the tailight buckets. The door handles, I purchased damaged doors and cut the complete door handle area out and then had them grafted onto my doors, both sides and the rear.

Couple questions...
Where did you get that small brake booster?
Where did you abs box, computer and fuse box go?

97gmcextcab
08-21-2007, 06:50 PM
I think he threw the abs out and t'd the front lines together and put a proportioning valve on the rear brakes. Thats what I did to my 97 and it works great. I also went ahead and took out all the sensors and stuff for the abs. Cleaned up the front quiet a bit.

Do I need a proportioning valve on rear disc?

97gmcextcab
08-21-2007, 07:57 PM
I believe you need it for any style rear brakes. All it is, is a valve used to adjust the fluid in the rear line to keep the rear wheels from locking before the front ones.

97gmcextcab is right on, ABS is gone, proportioning valve is a must, all stock brake lines being used. The computer and fuse have been moved to under the dash...much cleaner under the hood and definitley gives a lot more space for wheels/tires.
