Do you have a TBI set up or is it a Vortec?? If its Tbi it is right behind the injectors in between the 2 fuel lines. Its not adjustable from the manufacture unless you modify it or buy an after market one. You can get at it easily if you take off the injector pod assembly. If it A Vortec Im not quite sure where its mounted but should be on one of the fuel rail's I would think. I hope that this helps some???

96 5.7 should be a vortec and the regulator will be inside the intake manifold itself (plastic plenum) attached to the fuel metering body.

The regulator is definately on the passenger side of the fuel metering block. If the regulator leaks, the fuel goes straight into the #5 intake port (#5 plug will be very sooty and black).

Why did you post this in the TBI tuning section, that's a Vortec motor? :wtf:
