Try out the spacer, which will move the speakers out a little, so it might clear, while they still clear behind the door panel. It's worth a shot. If it's the same size as factory, I don't know why it wouldn't fit, so the new ones much be deeper. Does it do it on both sides?
HAHAHAHAHA I've now got the first post! :aniteef:

the speaker may be the same diameter, but the mounting depth is pretty deeper

are they the same screws that you took out or did you use new ones? sometimes the hardware that come with them is longer than the original.
New speakers must be deeper or have a larger basket. Do you know how much interference there is? You may try using a spacer between the back mounting surface of the speakers and the door. I know on some vehicles, it's necessary to space some speakers out to avoid the window hitting the speaker.

I used the same screws since the new ones were longer.

You have to space the speakers outwards, and possibly trim the grille supports on the door panel. Experienced this when I put in my JL Audio XR's.

All I did was take some washers and put them on the screws on the backside of the mounting bracket on the speaker to pull it away from the window, worked perfectly. On mine, they hit but would still go all the way down, but if yours hit and completely stop, they might need quite a bit of spacing

i just went to Ace hardware and bought some nylon spacers (1/2'' long i believe) and PRESTO! only had to do that on my back doors, not the front for some reason. either way though it worked. good luck!

Three solutions... And the ONLY three I know of!
1.) Buy new speakers, which don't have the mounting depth. This is a stupid option, whenever you already have your speakers.
2.) Remove the speakers, and then move the window track. It's one bolt in the bottom of the track. This is by far the easiest method.
3.) MDF spacer. In most cases, a 1/2" spacer will get you what you need, but you may need more. Anything more than 1/2" needs to have the cylinder which goes from the door panel to the speaker trimmed. This is the best method. Get yourself some deadening and some modeling clay and do the install right from the beginning.
DO NOT just space out the speaker from the door! It will sound like absolute crap! :read:
