I know most people do vice versa but I really like a bench seat.. Is it possible to swap from buckets to a bench on a 96 Z71?

Yup... I did the opposite swap as you, but I'm thinking that where your center console mounts, should be the two holes for the 60/40 bench that goes in your truck. BTW, what color interior do you have?

Full bench or 60/40? Full bench is easy.

I have an extended cab.. I guess whichever is normal for a 96 to have lol

The 60/40 bench is more than likely what would come in the '96... If you had the maroon interior, I have a 60/40 sitting in my shop.

Edit: On second though, no I don't... Dad put it in his W/T.

Yes... I believe the bolt holes should line up on them... If not, you may want to swap the lower brackets on the passenger seat. The driver's seat should match up, as almost all seats out of '95+ C/K's match bolt holes on the outsides... The 60 portion is on the driver's side, so those bolt holes should line up with the bolt holes that mount your center console. The only thing that may need mods would be either one or both inner (closest to tranny hump) on the passenger side.

when i did the swap in my '97 all the holes lined up except for the front right for the driver portion of the seat. the hole wasn't there and i didn't check to see if there was a nut on the bottom of the cab.

On my 90 when I put buckets in I had to drill a hole and weld a nut for one or two bolts. I drilled, put the bolt through, tightened it all down, and then welded the nut to the cab. Only took a few minutes.

I swapped out My denali seats whan i sold My 97 Z-71. I replaced them with a power 60/40 from another 95-99 extended cab. Make sure you get a set from an extended cab or the passengers seat will not work correctly and will NOT bolt to the floor. The tracks on an extended cab and a regular car/Tahoe yukon Suburban are totlay different as is the seat(some what). The drivers side will work but will not have the entry lever. And he is correct only one hole to drill IF you get the right seats.
