Anyone have this problem, my power seat in my 2000 silverado LT moves back and forth about 1/2 to 1" in both directions unless the seat is pushed all the way back, the dealer wants $500+ for the power assembly under the seat, can't find one in junkyard. HELP ME:rocking:

i think i have seen this on your style trucks/suv seats where there are 2 bolts, one on each side of the bottom side of the seat track that start to back out allowing seat track movement, there is a GM tsb on this (#05-08-50-012A ) where they apply threadlock and replaced the bolts, i would remove the seat and remove the two bolts (they look like reverse torx) and just reuse them but apply threadlock to them and tighten them up to about 80 inch pounds. i would tell the dealer to kiss your a$$, (even though i work for one) and to check bulletins next time. maybe go back and show them the bulletin number. it came out in july of 2006 so i would try to get them to do it for free since they took a dump on you initially. if you have below 80,000 miles, they might goodwill if for you (do it under warranty since its a common failure)
