does anyone have pictures of a custom console that fits OBS's, and when i say custom i mean hand built like MDF or fiberglass. im swapping buckets in and want something to look good maybe hold my subs or just my ****. idk yet

i oughtta snap a picture of mine and post it up tonight, i'm working on a 2 part fiberglass center console. part one holds the radio, cupholders, and will house the amps for the speakers. part two will hold a glove box, amp for the subs, and tv for the rear passengers.

no not really i just set my elbow on the outer ring of the sub and my had just chills on the shifter pretty comfortable actually, I'm pretty tall and got long arms so it works out good for me not for the passangers but the can get over it

damn i cant tell you how much this helped me out. allright so as of right now thanks to silverado2nv i now know i want to put subs in it. and the port job by 98chevybadass really makes me want to run with that idea now im just not sure if i can run it with two subs, and if i do how i can run it. would it be better to use the subs facing the sides or both downfire in a row?

not as flashy as the others, but heres the one i made. Made of 3/4" MDF with some aluminum bends. The cupholders and cubby i got at West Marine. Had an upholstery shop make the slip cover, and they gave me some 1/4" foam to wrap it with first. The compartment has a couple white LEDs so i can see in it at night.

thanks man, that box is designed around 1 12" sub. i did a test run with a crappy 12(only a third of the power my amp puts out about 400 watts and it pounds. i cant wait to get my other sub and use the full amount of power around 1200 watts.

what type of sub(s)are you looking at? you can probaly run (2) 10 in that box with some design changes and keep it downfiring. i'll go back and re-think my design for (2) 10's and i'll send you what i came up with by pm.

i've got maybe another 4" from the top of the box to the dash, and atleast 8" from the bottom.

theres no way you could run 2 12's in that space. one 12 takes up pretty much all the space in the front of my enclosure.
also im not sure what model hifonics subs you have, but from the ones i saw recommend 1.75-2.5 cu ft per sub. so your looking at an enclosure that will be around 3.5-5 cu ft for 2. the only way i see you running 2 12's is running them sealed or if you want to port them and give them the proper space you need to do a blow through.

the enclosure is 16" tall, which is perfect for an armrest. its the same height as the 60/40 bench seat with the fold down console.

im just gonna do normal carpetting. my sub is just a generic hifonics 12" and its powered by my 1800w kenwood. it sounds awsome. i can out bump guys with 10's and huge boxes and set way more car alarms off then my last system. it even makes my ears hurt after about 10 min with the windows up. the lows are insane. i had a chick in there the other day that kept asking me to turn up the bass and she just giggled so she must of liked it too:crazy:. this box you disigned is perfect. thaanx for the design. ive got so man buddies that couldnt believe it was one sub and want me to make them a box.

i was impressed by the way mine sounded with just 400-500 watts on a memphis pr 12. it was loud and it was pretty clean sounding.
i'm actually rebuilding mine as we speek i changed it up a little bit, it will be 2 cu ft tuned to 32 htz just like the last one, but will have a storage area,cup holders, and it will blend into the dash. i'll hopefully have pics up tomorrow or tuesday, still trying to get it to fit right to the dash.

yea i was gonna add two cupholders to it. and a change/junk holder. and build an ipod holder out of fiberglass and put a cigarett lighter in it. that would be pretty kickass to have it molded to the dash.

after makin a cup holder today in the my shop class i think im going to add the cup holder, seal it, and use body fill to the milkshake stuff to smooth it and i also have a few emblems i cut out of metal that im going to use JB weld to adhere it to the box then use body fill and smooth it so it is a sort of raised image. i hope it looks good ill post progress pics this weekend.

no i didnt the box is a complete mess. but its probably close to 250.i have never built a box and was not sure. the side i messed up on by adding to many holes will have the screws pulled out and then plugged. and does it really matter if i used to many screws? it just makes it stronger.

you should google the internet i believe there are a few manufactor's out ther that make custom center consoles to hold 12inch subs underneath the. i believe JL AUDIO might be one such brand not sure though.

actually too many screws will make the wood weaker.

i have a small video for now. the towls were covereing up friends artwork with sharpy.
and raffy i made this box for two reasons. it was cheap and i made it. it only cost me about 40 bucks and 2 days time. it boosted my confidence to do allot more on my truck.

the camera speed is very slow so it didnt show the mirrors rattleing so well. also it didnt show it rattleing when i set it on the book.

sweet how bad does your vol gauge drop when it hits when i had my jl and a 1000 watt kenwood i would drop voltage to 9 on a hard hit

it barely drops to 13 on a low low hard ass hit that allways makes my deck skip. i have the big 3 done also so it helps. before th big 3 it would drop to like 9. oh also you might have caught my 1.5 farad cap in the video. my truck is off in the video so thats why my voltage is so low.
