stuck center console on 01

I just bought an 01 ext cab z71 and the center console is stuck I have searched already but found nothing. Any ideas? I have tried prying on it but feel like I'm about to break it

Are you talking about the lid? Is it locked?

is it a console or the jumpseat lid? jumpseat has a small bar that keeps it from opening in the up position. it gets stuck sometimes.


for the console, I vote its locked.

yeah it would be the lid on the jumpseat.

here is a thread on another site disassembling the jumpseat. it shows the lil peg that i mentioned. you might have to sign up to see the pics, not sure (its free and no spam from the site).

What was holding it?

the metal part that slides under the latch was broke so pushing it in did nothing. now i hope i can get that at the dealership.
