It will be attached to the timing cover almost directly below the thermostat housing. It may not be easy to see with it in a van but normally you can look down between the accecsory brackets and the water pump and get a good look at it from there. Hope that this helps. ITs in the same spot as any small block chev.

Put the #1 cylinder at TDC, and put the rotor bug to point at the #1 cylinder and drop in the dist.
Start her up.
Same procedure in all of them till you get to the LS engine's i'm pretty sure.
At least that's how I time my 96-newer vortec motor's,the computer will time it you just have to get it within a tooth. It will let you know if you off a tooth with a code,if it's 180 out it will backfire through the intake.

You need to disconnect the esc timing connector generaly located by the main fusible link cover or near the disty, its a single wire. Once you disconect that you can start the engine and set the timing to 0* that is what the stock ecm is programed for. If you dont disconect the est timing wire your timing will probably read up around 20* or more at idle warmed up. That would be BFTDC. Advanced. Once you set it to 0* you can shut it off and reconnect the est wire and you should be good to go!! Hope that is a decent explanation???
