Are there any replacement gauges for the '88 K1500? I don't mind the stock dash, but I would like more of a traditional gauge cluster. I am looking for something that won't require extensive rewiring.

Also, is there a blank face plate to cover up where the stock radio is on the dash. I am talking about the square unit on the right side of the dash. I want to put a replacement unit in the spot where the cassette player is, but I would like to remove the old radio.

Thanks,
Acropolis

Chevrolet offers a pocket to go in the dash where the radio is. It's part number 15532300. List price is $23.26.

Thanks. That sounds like what I am looking for. Do you know if they carry it at some of the restoration parts suppliers?

I'm not sure about that but any of your local gm dealers can order it for you. You should be able to get it overnight from a delear cause theyre showing to have them at the pontiac mi wharehouse.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably stop and pick one up at one of the local radio shops when I get around to updating the radio.

For what it's worth Crutchfield is a good place to pick up a deck for these trucks. You get everything you need to install which isn't usually a big deal, but on our trucks they give you a color matched deck surround for where the tape deck was, the factory radio cubby, wiring harness and antenna adapter. Well worth the price I think. Not sure if there's a minimum dollar amount for the deck for the free stuff, but at most it's $140, not bad.
