I am trying to do some LED work in my interior and was wondering if I could tap somewhere in the dash instead of going all the way to the battery through the firewall. Could I do this through the cigarette lighter, power port, etc.? I am just looking to power two LED's for now but want to make it easy and plan it out. Thanks.

Run it from the fuse box. Use a test light and source a vacant fuse slot that cuts off with the keyswitch. Fuse the wire right after the tap.

theres tons of places you could tap into.

Your cig lighter or 12 volt outlets right under the radio will probably be the easiest, depending on wether you have a split bench seat of a full console itll just be a matter of popping the lighter housing out and continuing a run of wire.

Short of that you could tap into the glove box light, 12v ignition, run a new wire from the battery (fused ofcourse)

let us know a little more, where are the led's going, full console or split bench, etc

I'm just looking to put some LEDs in my cupholders and maybe for my door handles (but just the cupholders for now). I'm going to be running dual color LEDs with a on-off-on switch so I can switch from blue to white but also have an off position. I have bucket seats up front with the center console in the middle. Any more info needed let me know. Thanks

ohhh then your golden man.

Assuming this is the same as my 2003

you should be able to basically dissassemble everything without unscrewing anything.

Pull out the rubber cupholders, then the plastic peice that holds that in. And also pull out the face where the pocket is and where your 12v plugin and cig lighter is.

Once you have that off you should have direct access to the plastic plugs that go into each outlet. Just push to release them, and you have your +12v line right there

OK, I'll take a look. I can just use the +/- off that plug and am good to go?

yup, you can even just take the + as long as your grounding your other wire to some solid metal.
