I was talking to a guy that did all the work on past mustangs I have owned, and he thinks it would be pretty expensive to swap to a carb set up from TBI. I have a hard time believing this. Hw told me I would probably be better off going with the newer fuel injection technology, and that it would be cheaper. This guy really knows his stuff on Mustangs, but this just does not sound correct to me.

Does someone have a How To posted somewhere with step by step instructions?

I plan to keep the computer for the gauges, and odometer, and anything else it runs besides the motor.

PLEASE HELP!!!

dude, do not put a carb on your truck. The driveability/tuneability/dependability of TBI can't be beat IMO

Search the "Performance" section of the website. This is specifically for tuning the ECU's/PCM's. If you want to learn with us you better start reading DIY Prom @ ThirdGen.org.

At WOT their is almost no diffrence between carb and fuel injection. and since my carb conversion, my truck has been very dependable. In my opionion my truck is just as driveable as its allways been.

You can do anything to a tbi motor that you can to a carb motor!! All you need is a tbi to carb adapter plate and chip burner equipment. Im still working on my details but I just got 22mpg out of my 350 with tbi and other mods. Thats fully loaded with gear and bikes going up the freeway doing 80mph avg. That same motor used to only get around 12 to 14mpg with a carb!!! Once you figure out how easy it is to tune your computer for your tbi injection youll realize the benefits of EFI. If you were to go to carb its fairly cheap and easy. Just some wiring/fuel line mods/carb/intake/distributer etc. Aftermarket EFI is great but its also quite expensive to get fully set up. Just my thoughts.
