I was wondering how well this cam would work with TBI and tunability. I have two actually.

First: Edelbrock Performer RPM (Hyd. Flat Tappet)

Lobe Seperation: 112
Dur. @ .050": 234 int./ 244 exh.
Lift w/1.6 rocker: .520 int./ .544 exh.

Second: Doug Herbert Hyd. Roller

Lobe Seperation: 112
Dur. @ .050": 224 int./234 exh.
Lift w/ 1.6 rocker: .535 int./.535 xh.

would these cams be able to work with tuning or what? what makes it computer compatible or not?

Edelbrock cams are outdated junk.

both are way too much cam for a 4.3 vortec. they are even too much for a 383 vortec with the stock poppet injectors.

It for a 355 or 383, sorry i forgot to mention that. what makes it to big? Hot Rod Mag did a 383 that made 500 hp its not TBI but still. The cam they used was a Comp CAms Mechanical Flat tappet, Lobe Seperation 106*, Dur. @.050: 260 int./268 exh., Lift w/1.6 rocker: .592 int./.609 exh. thats huge. The cam i want isnt that big, what will make it work?

they are even to much for a 383 vortec with the stock poppet injectors.

the stock vortec injectors will only support 400 hp max and a tbi less than that.

is that even with the 85# injectors for the tbi? because i would like to make some good horsepower without a power adder. but i will add one later on when i get the engine done and running right.

from what understand about tbi they max out around 350 hp.

TBI does not max at 350 horse. fast305 put down 369 at the rear with tbi. You just need the right set up. It can easily support 450-500 horse. But the cams you mention are a bit radical. I am running a 112* lop sep 230 duration at .50 and 480" lift. Although it is tunable I do not make much vacuum to make the resolution better for the tune. I would not go anything less then 112* lop seperation, just wont work I do not think. Also a 230 duration is about the max.

I run 25psi through 65pph injectors and have no fueling issues. Fast runs something like 30psi through 55pph I believe, don't quote me on that.

You might be able to run that cam however with the 7427 ecm with a MAF conversion like fast runs. That gets you away from the vacuum issues of speed density.

What is the 7427 ecm?
