View Full Version : HID Conversion Kits - $149 - Low & High Beams & Fog Lights
mikemjohnson 08-27-2007, 08:30 AM DUE TO RECENT SUCCESS OF THE $150 SALE, THE PRICE WILL REMAIN AT $149 UNTIL OTHERWISE STATED. CHECK THIS THREAD FOR CURRENT PRICE INFORMATION!
10/25 - As you all may know, we just finished up the seasonal sale here at FSC, and it was a great success. Business before that has also been great. When i first started my vendor status here on FSC, in late August, sales were slow, as people were considering dealing with a new vendor. Since then, I am confident in saying that I am a trusted and valuable vendor in the FSC community from all of the postive feedback you can find in this thread and others, and the many people who personally thank me for the level of customer service and quality of the kits. I would like to thank everyone who has purchased from me, or even those that have just considered it. You are supporting an honest small American business. Thank you to all of you who have also referenced me to friends and family. Without the support of the FSC community, Higher Level Automotive might not be around. Thank you for your business and continued support, and I hope to remain in the community for a long time.
Mike
-------------------------
Until Friday only, HID Conversion Kits from Higher Level Automotive will be only $150!!! I have wanted for a while to bring the price of kits down to $150, and have recently gone into talks with my supplier to lower my cost. I haven't got them down yet, but I am interested in seeing if there would be an increase of business if I lower the price down to $150. So to find out, I am having this sale! You will be pre-ordering your kit, which will ship out first thing Monday, 9/3/07 - they might even ship out by Friday the 31st, at the end of this week. There are many different types and temperatures ('colors') available, which include kits for 88-06 fullsize GM vehicles (Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban/GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL), with temperatures of 4300K, 6000K, and 8000K. Kits also available for most Chevys, and many other makes and models.
Kit includes everything that you need, instructions with pictures, written by myself, two bulbs, two ballast with internal ignitors, mounting brackets and hardware, and relay wiring harness.
To pre-order your kit at 150 dollars, simpily visit www.higherlevelauto.com > 'Products' page > Scroll down and click ORDER picture-button > View available inventory, and select the kit type you'd like and the temperature > Click add to cart! Remember, free shipping on two kits, the most popular combonation is buying high and low beam kits for chevys, saving you almost 30 more dollars on shipping. You'd be saving about 80 dollars buying both kits at this price!
Please visit the other thread in the Higher Level Automotive forum to view various pictures, customer's install pictures, and questions others have asked.
Quick reference:
9006 - Low beams for Chevy full-sizes. Double check with the link on the 'Products' page under STEP 1.
9005 - High beams for Chevy full-sizes. Again, double check.
Thanks,
Mike Johnson
mikemjohnson 08-28-2007, 05:11 AM i have one preorder at 150, but thats it! no one else is interested at such a good price? this is practically the price of a super-cheap (price and quality) kit off ebay, but youre getting the peace of mind of a highquality kit and customer service!
jmcgriff19 08-28-2007, 08:12 AM I want to get some HIDs for my truck but it is going to be about 4 months before I can get them. If you were still running this price then I would definitely buy them from you.
BADLANDER 08-29-2007, 05:00 PM any word on the fog lights man? ever figured out what bulb would work? PM me, i have a deal i think you might like :rocking:
mikemjohnson 08-29-2007, 06:28 PM im pretty sure they are h10 bulbs, the 9145 fog lights, and i can definitely get h10s
BADLANDER 08-29-2007, 09:14 PM the kits are definitly some quality pieces... just installed it on my sierra this weekend and it was super easy, came out great, and looks sick as hell!! i payed more than 150, and honestly would have paid more than what i did... great product and a great price... i dont understand why people arent jumping on this chit!!
SmokedOutZ28 08-30-2007, 12:41 PM I'll see if i can get you some orders at this price, with the recent flooding of my house i havent really talked to the folks that wanted those 12 kits from you.
mikemjohnson 08-31-2007, 07:48 AM the last day of the sale! if you order, the kits will ship today, as they arrived to my door super fast!
hopefully this will be the normal price in the future if i can work my supplier, but grab a kit while youre guaranteed $150!
07sierra07 09-04-2007, 08:09 AM So, I'd like all the lights on my truck to match.
What I mean is that I want the high beams/lowbeams/daytimes/fog lights to all have HID lights all the same color.
07 Sierra NBS
It's all or none.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
07Sierra07
BADLANDER 09-04-2007, 05:42 PM highs yes, lows yes, fogs yes, daytimes i dont think so, but im not so sure
mikemjohnson 09-05-2007, 11:28 AM DRL on the 07 (3157 bulb) can not be made into HIDs, it just cant be done. The other things could be done quite easily, but id suggest replacing your DRLs if you do get kits with LED bulbs or xenon filled halogens, pretty inexpensive.
I recently converted two kits to 9006, so i have 2 more kits now in 9006 in 8000k and 6000k and high beams in 8000k are available. these are the only ones that for now, will be 150 bucks, so grab em!
also, check out the website for near-future products that Higher Level Auto will be carrying! (products page)
w33m4n0268 09-09-2007, 03:22 AM would it be possible for you to get 881 bulbs? i need a kit for my fogs in my z71 tahoe.
mikemjohnson 09-09-2007, 10:06 AM ill have to check into it with my supplier, i can get the fog lights no problem that are on the sierra and silverado, which has 9145. i see that there are some HID conversion kits online for 880/881, so if i cant provide them for you i will point you somewhere
mikemjohnson 09-11-2007, 10:45 PM I am currently out of stock of kits, but I am getting ready to place another order. the $150 sale will continue to anyone who preorders a kit between now and Monday, the 17th (the day I hope to place another order). Again, thats $150 bucks for everything you need. If you would like to place the order, simpily visit the website and checkout with what kind of bulb and what color you'd like
Mike
04BlackGMC 09-12-2007, 07:38 PM dont have the money right now but i am really interested.
what all wiring do you have to do? ground the boxes and hook the relay system up to the battery?
mikemjohnson 09-12-2007, 09:16 PM all you have to do is hook up the relay, dont have to ground the boxes individually
04BlackGMC 09-14-2007, 05:05 PM thanks!
mikemjohnson 09-16-2007, 04:52 PM Ok everyone, the next 'official' sale is on! I wanted to place an order by tomorrow, Monday, but I had a huge amount of money taken from me by some foreign suppliers in my attempts to expand the company product line to In-Dash units, radar detectors, and other things. I am still recovering from the loss, but am ready to make my next order.
This sale will be the same as last, $150 for any kind of kit (any bulb, any color) plus shipping if you preorder your kits between now and Monday the 24th. On that Monday night, I will place the next order.
Same as usual, kits are 100% plug and play, look great, and are compatiable with all Chevy/GMC Full Sizes from 1988 to 2008.

Also, fog light HID conversion kits are available! Same price, $150, ask about them!
Please feel free to PM me here or post in this thread with any questions.
Thanks for the continued support from FSC members!

SmokedOutZ28 09-16-2007, 05:40 PM I'll have a order for you by wednesday. Quick question though which is the brightest bulb you offer the 8000k?
mikemjohnson 09-16-2007, 06:14 PM http://www.higherlevelauto.com/images/rangeJ.JPG
note the light projected on to the road in front of the cars. 6000K gives you more light, as it is a ultra-crisp and clean white light with a tiny tinge of blue, whereas 8000K puts out about the same amount of light, but has more of a blue tinge to it, so it appears slightly less bright
I'd say make your decision based off the color that you are looking for, since these kits, regardless of what color you get, are going to put out a significantly larger amount of light than your halogens, so either way your light upgrade is going to be amazing.
TPI_Silverado 09-18-2007, 09:35 PM I'm Pre ordering the low beam 6000k for my Chevy K1500. I don't have enough money for the other Chevy C1500. But If I like these lights. I will buy another pair from you.
mikemjohnson 09-18-2007, 10:02 PM awesome TPI, your order is confirmed, i shot you an email with some details. Thank you!
Georgiaboy11 09-21-2007, 04:19 PM im really really trying to decide if i should go for it. if i could get them for 150 and not have ot pay shipping i coudl do it. cause im getting her tinted on monday. and ill need the rest of the money i have for that..
BADLANDER 09-22-2007, 10:36 AM i definitly say do it, you wont be dissapointed

mikemjohnson 09-23-2007, 04:09 PM Hey guys, just wanted to remind you all that if you'd like to get in on the $150 preorder, you need to place that order tonight. There might be a small window available tomorrow until 5ish, but it depends on when I get to placing the order. So be safe and get it in tonight. hopefully the kits will remain at 150 after this, like i said, i got taken for a lot of money by some foreign suppliers, so I might have to temporarily raise the price to the original price of 175 to help compensate for the loss, but we'll see how it works out.
CLICK HERE (http://www.higherlevelauto.com/9006.html) to go straight to the order page.
if you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me, post here, or call 919.306.1142 until about Midnight EST.
Thanks!

hunt_ak 09-26-2007, 07:47 PM So it'd be 450 for Highs/Lows/Fogs on a 05 Silverado CC?

8.1 HD 10-11-2007, 06:00 PM I must just add my two pennies here...if anyone is leary of this kit don't be...they are exactly what he says they are...very simple install..plug and play...on my '07 hoe it took longer to remove the front clip than it did to wire up these lights. They are what I will be using from now on in my clients vehicles.
nebraskaz71 10-11-2007, 06:45 PM so frustrated hehehe looks great man
mikemjohnson 10-24-2007, 03:14 AM THE GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:

onlydrive4WD 10-24-2007, 05:49 AM Why do all of your products say "TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE"?
mikemjohnson 10-24-2007, 06:31 AM because at this moment, i am out of stock, and have not paid for my next order, so i cant say for sure what is in stock. That will be updated tonight and ready for orders, sorry about the down time...what exactly were you looking to order (ill add it to the next order that im placing tonight)?

Well I was thinking about the low-beams for my '97 K1500, but doing some research on HIDPlanet, I'm hearing bad things about HID "kits". So I'm not sure what I want to do...

if you get a phillips or mucollugh hid 'kit' (it is the same setup, exact same thing), you're just paying more. not hating on their products, but they're pretty much the same thing. i had a customer who had a mucullogh kit (spelling...) and when he bought one from me, the first thing he sent me via email was that he thought the kits i am selling were of better quality and construction (wiring, etc). everyone at HIDplanet is stuck up because they have $1500 retrofits with $600 HID kits (that are practically the same), and anyone else who hasnt spent almost a month's salary or half a semester of college worth of money on their HID setup is a loser to them, so take it with a grain of salt

assuming its towards me, i thought we exchanged emails, i remember you saying you wanted multiple harnesses along with a kit. i never make customers do any extra work, but drop me a line at higherlevelauto@earthlink.net, its the most efficent way to get up with me, sorry about leaving you hangin lowryder :argue:
mikemjohnson 12-05-2007, 01:07 PM msw I just PMed you check it out
mikemjohnson 12-05-2007, 01:25 PM lowryder i found one of your questions in one of the other threads, I PMed you, sorry again, but get back to me
96greenburb 12-06-2007, 10:55 AM  Do I need something like this for my ballast
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q125/derekjo75/Headlight%20Upgrade/IMG_0895.jpg
or is the ballast ok just mounted to the side like smokedoutz28s
mikemjohnson 12-06-2007, 05:02 PM thats actually a pretty cool idea, but you dont need it at all, never had a customer do that and ive never done it in the many cars ive ran kits in. these things are pretty durable especially when you consider they're electronics. as long as they're mounted out of harm's way (moving parts, excessive dirt/water from the road, etc) you're good to go!
mikemjohnson 12-08-2007, 09:45 PM alright, about 24 hours left in the christmas sale for guaranteed christmas shipping. Remeber, the sale price continues through the 1st of January for whatever kits will be in stock, but order now to guarantee you can get what you want!
Nick Z71 03-29-2008, 12:26 AM So it's $150 for high beams, $150 for low beams, and $150 for fogs? so it would be $450 for everything?
triedel 04-08-2008, 03:07 PM If i dont have fogs already on my truck, can i adapt the fog kit for a 2001 chevy 1500? or do i need to purchase the light housings and then get the kit from you?
mikemjohnson 04-09-2008, 08:12 AM if you already have fog kit and you want to put them in headlights, all you need is a new harness from me and a new set of bulbs, 9006 for your low beams. let me know what you need
i have one preorder at 150, but thats it! no one else is interested at such a good price? this is practically the price of a super-cheap (price and quality) kit off ebay, but youre getting the peace of mind of a highquality kit and customer service!
This is not that good of a price. I get my slim balast kits for 110 through my east coast supplier all day long and they come with the same warranty as every other kit that is sold. Looks exactly the same as your kit as well.

this may be true, you get them from your supplier for 110, but then you have to mark them up for a profit to make a living and pay the bills. and then you have to print the individual thank you letter that i'm sure your company also sends with their kits, and instructions, then buy boxes and packing tape, drive to post office and then pay for shipping....
110 is including shipping, and I have them drop shipped. I'm not a vendor by any means just stating the obvious. Selling them at 149 makes for a pretty goof profit margin.
I personally hate the damn things, they are not made for the headlights they are being installed in and I don't think half of the people buying them install or aim them properly.
RollingBowTie01 04-10-2008, 09:44 AM hey mike i want a set for my low beams on my 01. i do however want a very bright light with a light tint of blue. what would you reccomend?
lady3bglover 04-10-2008, 10:34 AM Mike...
Are you using the stock fog lamp housing?
mikemjohnson 04-10-2008, 11:38 AM hey mike i want a set for my low beams on my 01. i do however want a very bright light with a light tint of blue. what would you reccomend?
you're describing 6000K exactly! nice hint of aftermarket blue, but very bright
mikemjohnson 04-10-2008, 11:39 AM Mike...
Are you using the stock fog lamp housing?
i have yet to run across a vehicle ive sold to, chevy or not, that has run into problems with their stock housings, even the new tahoes and yukons that are 'infamous' for the stock housings failing under HIDs - havent had a customer have a problem even with those
RollingBowTie01 04-10-2008, 12:25 PM you're describing 6000K exactly! nice hint of aftermarket blue, but very bright
then 6000k is what it will be. i would like to order a set mike.

If you get LED DRL's they will be a damn close match. I am running HID's and put 3157 LEDs in for my turns and they are extremely close.
scrapen 04-11-2008, 02:00 PM Just thought i'd say the hid's i received work great. Seriously it is a night and day difference in brightness given how dirty my stock headlamps are (10k bulbs)
On a side note for anybody make sure headlights are secure before turning on. Since my driver side headlight is a very tight fit reaching my hand in there it popped out and started melting the plastic at the hole when i first hooked them up.
Thanks again mike.

DEFINITELY important to make sure they are secured in the back of the headlight - this problem of melting will occure with any bulbs (actually more so with halogens) if they are not secured
if you guys could post in the other thread in the Higher Level Automotive forum, the one with 8+ pages so all the info is in one place

What my concern would be if the housings could handle the heat from the HID bulb.
mikemjohnson 04-11-2008, 02:41 PM What my concern would be if the housings could handle the heat from the HID bulb.
yes, they can
RollingBowTie01 04-12-2008, 10:25 AM i am wondering how you or anyone would recommend aiming the lights once you install HID's. i want to make sure i get as much light on the road as possible.
mikemjohnson 05-17-2008, 09:52 AM just the basic way, i know on OBS you just adjusted them by turning the metal pole things that stick up through the top of the radiator support. shouldnt be hard at all
RollingBowTie01 05-23-2008, 01:07 PM hey mike i have an 03 tundra that uses a 9003 bulb.. i know i will lose the hi-beam. what would you recommend for that beast? whats the price at now a days?

i get compliments on my lights everyday!! i love them, i have a 2inch leveling kit and lowered my lights done and it still covers the whole road, they put out light everywhere, still blinding the people in front of me though....as for you with stock height, i wouldnt adjust them at all, you dont want them blinding ppl gettting pissed at you, nor do you want to shine them down, i would leave them where they are.
